[livejournal.com profile] beard5 and I celebrate by getting up and going to the Concord Farmer's Market. We do this every Saturday that we are both in town: we go and get coffee (for him), tea (for me) and we split a bagel or a sandwich (today it was a BLT to die for on toasted sourdough bread - yum!). Then we go to the Farmers Market. Today, I got new potatoes, snap peas, broccoli, donuts and a corkscrew. He got donuts and fudge (the lamb folks weren't there, so he couldn't get lamb). It was a good morning.

Now I'm home, and cleaning. My living room is cleaned and vacuumed. Now I'm working on the dining room. My only slight sorrow was that none of the flowers spoke to me at the FM - maybe I'll see if I can get some pansies from my overgrown flower bed. Oh, and I have to thaw the salmon! Dinner tonight is salmon with lemon sauce, roasted broccoli and rice. I think I'll have Argus and Dad pull the table out and we'll eat outside tonight.

Have a great 4th, everyone!
I'm doing a lot of spring cleaning this year, and I think I've frightened my hubby. There's a reason that I'm doing it this year, though - because I couldn't before.

Not because I didn't want to, but because I physically couldn't. I've been sick for so long that it's almost freeing to be exhausted because I've put the winter coats away and mopped the entryway. I'm bagging things for Goodwill. I'm putting books up on PaperBackSwap. There will be stuff going up on FreeCycle. I'm cleaning out the clutter that I've carried with me, in some cases, since college.

It's very freeing. It's taking a while, but hey, I didn't get this stuff overnight. I'm looking 18 months down the road, when the house has been cleaned and organized and looks like my home.

Besides, it gives me something to do other than obsess over how STUPID Joe Buck sounds.
As of 7:44 am EST today, it became spring. Time for a change!

This weekend, I have writer's group on Saturday, so tonight I need to do the reading for that. I think I'll print it out before I leave to go to my Remicade treatment and bring it down to the hospital with me.

Other than that, I need to see Mom and Dad on Sunday to go over some family stuff, and then I need to CLEAN. Spring Cleaning this weekend. There is laundry all over my living room, my dining room looks like a bomb exploded and so does my kitchen. It's a mess. Time to clean!

And if I get the cleaning done? Then I can start seeds. Yay! Gardening, here I come!
And I'm hosting! Of course, I've lost my phone, so if you need to call me, call Argus' phone instead. It's 5575 where I'm 5568.

I'm cleaning now - just finished the dishes and found my work badge (next to the vitamins I forgot to take yesterday - go figure), and now I need to clean off the dining room table, make cranberry muffins in my star muffin tin (that I forgot I'd bought!) and then just run the vacuum. And I might make something else today - maybe a quiche? Dunno.

Bear is howling again. I should go see why.
And up early to deal with snow before going to work. It's supposed to stop around 6 pm tomorrow, but I need to get into work. So up early to shovel it is. Lucky Argus, he's off on vacation all week. *grumble*

Bento packed for tomorrow. Plastic/bentoware all cleaned and organized. Back sore.

Night, all!
Day of Happiness 2 - Geek day! I got my Hunter to level 40!!!! And started a Paladin who's almost level 12. (I want a secondary who can tank, and Hunters aren't the best tanks) I know, I'm hopeless.

I also need a WoW icon. Must get on that.

More tea reviews will be forthcoming - I plan on drinking a LOT of tea today.

For the rest of the year, I need to work on Belladonna Dreams. I'd like to get the entire thing done so I can start querying it. I've been saying that for the past few years, and I need to get it out. Just do it, you know? And I have no real excuses - I have a year to work on Last Rites. I'll be posting a goal list in a few days. And I need to start totalling up words for the year. I wonder how many I got this year?

It's still snowing. Bah. I have to shovel again soon.

To dos for today:

1. CLEAN KITCHEN!!!! I'm so sick of the mess that is my kitchen. Cleaning and reorging today. No excuses.

2. Gingerbread cookies. I need to use the rest of the dough I made.

3. Crits for DII.

4. Christmas cards.

5. Wrap Christmas presents.

Then we'll see.

Off to shovel now.
Yes, the house looks like a post-nuclear explosion. I can't deal with it anymore. So no writing, no WoW, no email, no NOTHING, until I've made a dent in the cleaning.

So here's the list:

- Living Room:
1. Put away laundry
2. clean off blue couch
3. Clean off table
4. Vaccuum floor

- Kitchen:
1. DISHES!!!!
2. Clean off counters
3. Sweep floor
4. WASH floor

1. More laundry
2. Cook
3. Head to Walmart and get outdoor lights and a wreath and a new mouse for the big computer.

1. dinner tonight: fish sticks, baked potatoes, broccoli and cheese
2. dinner tomorrow night: baked chicken breasts, stuffing with cranberries and brussel sprouts with garlic.
3. chicken salad
4. egg salad

I might make brownies or biscuits too, but I haven't decided yet. This is a good list.

I will be writing later tonight as well. And now I'm off!
I slept late (11 am!) and then gloried in the beautiful day. 75 degrees, sunny and simply lovely.

Cleaned out my car, except for the trunk, which is a project in and of itself. *sigh* Went to Yankee Food Market in Raymond and got an amazing amount of food. Amazing. And an "Almost Better than Sex" Chocolate cake.

Then off to the movies - hubby and I saw The Forbidden Kingdom tonight. OMG - MUST SEE! Must own, definitely. We grew up on chopsaki films and well, this one was just too much fun.

Then it was off to the Chinese buffet and then home. And my Sox are winning 11-3 in the 9th.

Oh, did I mention that they talk about the Sox in the movie? Chopsaki and the Red Sox = geek love!!!!

Now off to write, and tomorrow - well, we beard the dragon that is my sewing room/office. Wish me luck.
So tonight there's a Mardi Gras Hurricane X coming through tonight, and Casa Ford is the overflow harbor, so to speak. Which means I need to clean, since [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills is helping a friend move today. So far, I've gotten the dining room clean, and most of the living room. I'm taking a quick break - at 3 pm, I'm starting laundry and peeling the devilled eggs for tonight. Then it's finishing up the living room, doing dishes and vacuuming. I might even have time to write today (being positive here).

Then it's dressed and over to Casa Xavier for the party. I have a mask, bling and a really cool top to wear. There might even be pictures.
That's what today is. I'm cleaning house, literally and figuratively. Yes, it's too early to start spring cleaning, but I have a day off, so I'm going to make my downstairs shine.

I've already started - I wanted to get a good start before I hopped onto that timesink known as the internet. 3 buckets of laundry that [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills did on Friday are now folded and put away. There's a load in the dryer and one in the washer. I've emptied the dishrack once and refilled it, and as soon as I finish this entry, I'm going to go empty it again and refill it.

To dos today:

1. Clean entry-way
a. pick up all the shoes/mail/bags and put away
b. mop floor

c. vacuum stairs

2. Clean living room
a. pick up, fold and put away laundry
b. clean off tables
c. vacuum floor

3. Clean dining room
a. clean off table
b. put away christmas tree and tools
c. vacuum floor

4. Clean kitchen
a. do dishes and put away
b. clean off counters

c. put away remaining dry groceries
d. clean off camping kitchen
e. sweep floor
f. mop floor

Well, I've got a lot to do today, so I'm off!

Update: I didn't get it all done, but I did get a lot done. Hubby was very pleased when he came home, and so am I!

Where did I get so much CRAP??? Yes, that means that today, after much whining, I attacked the mess that was pretending to be my office/sewing room.

As the Red Sox have fought off the Giants (still leading 9-5 in the 8th), I've battled the boxes. Now, you can walk through the center of the room without worrying that the boxes piled on the sides will cave in on you, and Cassandra has been set up on the desktop, so I can write. I'm contemplating leaving the desktop NOT hooked up to the internet, and just have both running on the desk (I have the room). But as Heracles is not even put together yet (I haven't had the time), I'll worry about that later.

So I'm taking a break to blog and catch up on email - then I'm going to attack the sewing table. Tonight, I'm going to write (almost done with the plotting form, so I can start outlining), and maybe hook Heracles together.

I like having an office again.

Well, hubby was a saint and let me sleep off the week. It was lovely! I finally got up around 2:30 pm. Then I called Domino's, ordered pizza for lunch, and got down to cleaning and packing.

I got one corner of the bedroom cleaned and organized. Took a bag of trash out to the dumpster, and packed up another trash bag to go to Goodwill tomorrow when I go grocery shopping. Tomorrow, I'm planning on packing up the closet and then storing boxes in that area.

Luckily, I have Monday off, so I can do more then as well. I need to get our living room habitable by 6 pm Monday night, for my birthday party/Opening Day viewing. :p Gotta have your priorities, after all. ;)

Tonight, I need to write, and write lots. So that's what I'm doing now. And I've got 11 extra points from hauling stuff for 3 hours today, so I can drink lots of Pepsi while I'm writing.

I hate working days. Even days when I get nothing but HW and help desk questions.

I really think I have an aversion to working in an office in the sun. There's just something so different about coming in at 9:30 am versus coming in at 3:30 pm.

I dunno.

OTOH, an issue that's been burning for a while here is finally getting some attention. That makes me happy.

Home tonight with hubby. Long bath once I get the DSL working. Then some writing and some sleep. Oh, and cleaning. I need to clean the apartment.

*sigh* I need more energy and more hours in the day.

And the book is back in the author's hands - I'm just waiting for his final okay, and I'll send it off to the publisher. Yay!!! I'm very excited - it's a great book.

My desk is clean too! And my new shelves are in! When I'm not writing this week, I'm going to be cleaning in here - I'm feeling claustrophobic.

I've signed up for the Labor of Love marathon at FM - hoping for another 10k on Seasons this week. The marathon starts in (checks clock) 11 minutes. :p

Oy. I need some caffeine.

Because I've been cleaning all day. I have a new writing desk!!!!

That's great. I can put my own computer up, and all my writing stuff. Argus and I don't have to compete for writing space anymore!

Unfortunately, to put it in, I have to go and clean all my sewing stuff up. Ugh. I think I found where they hid Hoffa. *sigh*

I also found that I have a TON of gorgeous fabric. So no more fabric buying for Val until she uses some of her stash. I've also got a full box of "projects" - ie, garb that's partially done. Everything from "I cut it out and got interrupted" to "I just need to sew the neckline and add some trim and it's done." Argus has about 7 tunics like that in here. :)

So once the desk is in, I'll either be putting the laptop on there, or setting up a big computer. I'm not sure which yet.

So more updates later. If I can get the computers linked, I'll take a picture of the new and improved office when I'm done and post it here.

On the upside, I did a HECK of a workout today! Talk about sore! Hauling boxes of fabric is good for the muscles! :)

Off to work now!
