(tech) FYI - technical issues

I won't be on as much - my laptop is having issues. (IE, I'm waiting for new memory to come in, because mine decided to die yesterday) So we're down to one computer in the house, and I can't get into my val @ vg-ford dot com email at the moment. If you need to get in touch with me, use the yahoo addy.

I'll be checking on stuff on here at work during breaks, but I can't check my home emails from here. I'm hoping that the memory gets here fast - it's coming from Texas, so we'll see.

OTOH, I'll have 1 GB of RAM when I'm done!

So post a note here if you need to get my attention. I'll let folks know when I'm up and running again.

(personal) Still alive...

Just not on a lot - our router decided to die (bah!) and so we're down to one computer. So if you're waiting for something from me - I'm not ignoring you. I'm just not on as much.

Grrr.

Hubby and I are only out of the house for 20 minutes today – and WHEN does UPS decide to try and deliver my new computer? During that 20 minutes, of course – and it needs a signature.

Sigh.

I can ALREADY see how today is going to go. :p

Oh well, maybe I can call UPS and say, “Deliver it again – he’s there!!!” Nah, they’ll probably tell me I can pick it up tomorrow.

On the other hand, I'm out at 9 pm tonight, so barring catastrophe, I should be home by 9:30. Which means lots and lots of writing time tonight!

So I can pack tomorrow. :P Since we're not going to VT in 15 inches of snow and sleet.

Happiness is...

A new computer coming FOUR days ahead of schedule!!!

Yup, UPS called this morning (at 10 am, which isn't bad, until you realize that I didn't go to sleep until 3 am...gotta love nights) and told me someone had to be there to sign for it between 8 am and 7 pm. *sigh* I'm hoping (crossing every single appendage that can be) that it gets there before say, 1 pm. Then I can play with it before work. *grin*

I'm still running my contest - looking for names for both the new laptop (female) and the desktop (male). Winner for each gets a signed book!

Email suggestions to vg_ford@yahoo.com with the title "Name the Computer Contest" in the header by March 31st, and I'll send books out the first week in April.

I've gotten a few good suggestions, but there's always room for more!

In other news, I wore jeans a full size smaller today. And I could move in them! And sit and everything!!!

It is a good day - despite the snow warnings in effect for the rest of the weekend. *sigh*

I have a co-dependant computer...

Okay, so apparently if

argus7hills's computer isn't on, mine won't work.

*sigh* Just like me to have a needy computer.

At least it's working now. So

argus7hills, you can't turn your computer off.

No words in the past two days. WAAAAYYY too much other stuff going on. But I have a Remicade appt tomorrow, so I'll bring Merlin (the laptop) with me and hopefully pound out words.

Oh, that reminds me, I'll need my Christmas CDs for the trip.

The chances of me going to swim before going to the doctor's are getting slimmer and slimmer, since I need to be there at 10 am, they're in Worcester, and I'm not. And I still need to pull stuff together. And it's 3 am.

I need more time in the day....
