dragged the Cat back to the project at hand.
Not a bad couple of days (yes, I haven't posted in a while, so I just kept going)
Word Goal for the day: 1000 - made 2286
Starting line: Flames leapt up around the redhead, and Nikki suddenly understood what Justin and Rick had been trying to tell her about the StarChild.
Ending line: Hands grabbed his shirtfront, and Alex found himself suddenly nose-to-nose with the boy. “Don’t lie to me,” he snarled, and the white-blue Shadows rose in his dark eyes. “What is it?”
Darling:
Nikki yawned, and Rick nudged her. “Sleepy?” he said, and she nodded, flushing a little.
“I think I’m finally done,” she admitted, uncurling from the couch. “Sorry, all, but I’m heading to bed. Especially since I have to finish shopping tomorrow.” She got up and stretched, then gave Rick a long look. “Night, everyone.”
She went out, and a few moments later, Justin heard the door to her bedroom close. As soon as he heard it, Cleo picked up the throw pillow behind her and whipped it at Rick.
“Hey, what was that for?” he yelped.
“You moron, what are you waiting for?” she demanded. “Get your ass upstairs!”
Rick hesitated, and Cleo furrowed her brow. “You’re not gay,” she said, and Justin choked back a laugh. “So what are you waiting for? An engraved invitation?”
“It’s complicated,” Rick said, shaking his head. “I want to, but I’m not sure she does.”
Cleo raised her eyebrows. “Boy, get your butt upstairs. She wouldn’t have been draped all over you if she didn’t like you.”
“There’s a big difference between I like you and I want to sleep with you,” he retorted. “Trust me.”
“Trust me,” Shanna said, entering the conversation. “She won’t throw you out tonight.” Rick looked doubtful, and she chuckled. “Honestly. You’ll never know until you try, Rick.”
“What’s the worst that can happen? She tells you no thanks and shuts the door. If she turns you down, come back down and we’ll help drown your sorrows,” Cleo said. “Go.”
He hesitated a moment longer, looking at Justin, who nodded his agreement with the other two. “It’s just going to sit between the two of you if you don’t,” Justin said. “We promise to not say anything tomorrow morning.”
“Sez you,” Cleo muttered. “I’m planning on gloating for all it’s worth.” Shanna chuckled again and Rick flushed.
“Just go!” Cleo finally frowned, and Rick started moving as she magically forced him through the living room door.
“Okay, okay, I’m going!” He bounded up the stairs under his own speed, and they were all quiet as they listened. There was a brief knock, and then a single door opened and closed.
“Was his door shut?” Cleo asked Justin. He closed his eyes for a moment and concentrated, trying to sense where Rick had ended up. As his thought hit her room, Justin felt new shields go up, and chuckled.
“Good,” Cleo said, satisfaction twining through her voice. She picked up her glass and saluted the ceiling. “Have fun, kids!”
Deaths: Nope.
Good Things: CAKE!!!!
Bad Things: Thomas is about to lose his temper.

Sorry for the long darling - but I had to share that. :)
I think my Tayla and
jmeadows's Kippy are in contact somehow. Tayla was very affectionate tonight - I asked her if she was up to something with Kippy, and she gave me a very wide-eyed, innocent look.
I don't trust her. :P
More writing (maybe) tomorrow night.
Merry Christmas, LJ!
