(personal) I feel HUMAN today!

My nose is still stuffy, and I'm stiff and a little sore, but my head doesn't hurt, and I'm not bone-tired like I've been. I'm still going to take it easy today, but I think I might finally (knock on wood) be on the road to recovery. I really hope I can get through it without surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'm cautiously optimistic that nothing showed on my xrays, because I haven't gotten a call from my doc, and if it were serious, she would have called me.

Today is another slow day - I want to watch the game, do some cooking for the week, finally get Molly's Kitchen up (sorry! I want to test the recipe first!), write and do some more editing. I got two stories out yesterday to folks for S&S, and I'd like to do two more today, if I can. Also, finishing the baby blanket (I'm on the edging!) and starting the next project, which is an adorable baby sweater and cap for my new niece. I should put pictures up on Ravelry - hell, I should log INTO Ravelry. :P

Now, time for tea, Morning Pages, and pirates. Because that's how we roll today.

(personal) No, really, I'm still alive.

No matter what my body may say.

Have spent most of the last 48 hours sleeping. Am heading back to bed very soon. There will be a From Molly's Kitchen posted tomorrow (I hope) - my brain is currently wrapped in wool, and I can't seem to be very coherent.

More later.

Yes, this account is still live

Just checking to see if I remembered how to log in. :P I might mirror over to my LJ - depends on how long the DDoS attacks last this time. Those are seriously irritating, but I don't feel like moving everything over yet. But I might do some mirroring.

This might also force me to finally figure out what's going on with my WP site and get it operational again. I spoke to a tech friend on Twitter yesterday, and she gave me some great ideas. I just need to implement them, which I shall do tomorrow. Today I will actually make it to work, despite the residual pain in my head. In fact, in a bit, I have to make lunch for myself and dinner for Argus.

So, yeah, will mirror this over to LJ, if it will let me. If you're reading this on LJ and want to add me on DW, feel free.

And yes, I think I have a code or two if folks want.

(to-do) Time for a new pic!!!!

Yep, it's October, so I can pull out the jack-o-lantern! I am personally hoping for a great October - September was a disaster, healthwise and weightwise and writingwise - so I celebrated October 1 by taking a day off to rejuvenate myself. It was awesome. October blew in with cold rain, so I had no compunctions about spending the day with Argus, playing WoW. We did venture out briefly to see Resident Evil: Afterlife (yay! Love Alice!), but other than that? Nope. I even basically lived on popcorn from the movie theatre for the day. Well, that and the leftover goose casserole from Wednesday. Got my goose! *And yes, Argus and I each had goose on Wednesday. There was just a bit left over.*

Finally reconnected the Wii, after the summer hiatus, and promptly got enmeshed in Cate West and the Vanishing Files. It's an interesting game I got from GameStop used - it's a lot of finding things in pictures. I might be willing to pass it on after I finish - it's very kid-friendly, so if any of my friends with kids would like it after I'm done, let me know! It's one that I think I'll only play through once.

Today, I'm taking things easy. Going to watch the baseball game at 4 pm and probably at 9 pm too (hey, it's the Yankees! And the last games of the season!), and try and catch up on some things I've let slide. But honestly? The to-do list is pretty laid back today. Argus cleaned up the kitchen counter for me (I have the BEST hubby!), so I have a good start.

Lazy Saturday to-do List (in no particular order):
- Run the rent check to landlord
- Morning Pages
- Dishes
- Orange Cranberry muffins

- Laundry
- Court Reports
- Pain
- Clean the dining room
- Homework
- Email
- Meal plan for the week
- Shopping list for tomorrow

Yeah, that looks good. And I'll work on favors while I'm watching the games.

I'm around. Tweet me or maybe I'll drop into chat (one of them) in the afternoon.

(work/personal/writing) Rumors of my demise have been highly exaggerated

But I've been avoiding LJ for a few days. I had to get my thoughts in order. They're still swirling a bit, but I wanted to do at least some sort of an update.

So we bullet-point.

Work: Gearing up for 1099R season. Come January 2nd, I will be flat-out for a month (but only a month!) so don't expect a lot of content until after Feb. 14 (because Feb. 7 I board a plane to MEXICO!!!). I'll try, but I promise nothing.

On the upside, I'm enjoying this job. I'm still a bit unsure when it comes to talking about funds and things like that, but I'm learning. And it's really interesting, which helps.

Personal: Christmas was awesome. Spent the day with [livejournal.com profile] caitlindancer and the rest of the family, who are sadly LJ-less. Got to see the Pumpkin open her gifts. Got lots of good loot, including a rice cooker and a mandoline! Very excited.

Friday, [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills and I went out for Chinese food, bought a digital camera and went home to play WoW all day. I now have the expansion, but as my highest character is a 41 (yeah, yeah, I'm working on it) I haven't loaded it yet. Not sure I want a death knight anyways. Although I probably will.

Saturday was another family day - I have some amazing pics of the Pumpkin sledding in the back yard. Then we went over to [livejournal.com profile] aishabintjamil and [livejournal.com profile] peregrine's house and hung out for a while. Then home to more WoW.

Sunday was SUPPOSED to be Rock the Rum, but I woke up hacking up lungs, so we cancelled. :( We'll have to do a repeat!!! We must! I promise to be healthy next time!

Writing: My muse has gone into the bar on a bender, and when I try and interest him in either revising Dreams or worldbuilding for Mirrors, he gives me drek with over-muscled guys in loinclothes and chicks in chainmail bikinis. It's horrible. Worse than horrible. It makes Conan the Barbarian or Gor look like High Literature.

I think he's staging a revolution. I'm going to let him stew for a while in his martini, and then we'll see what comes out.

In the meantime, I need to get my hunter to 42...

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] starlitears, my ships are up again!

Bah.

Well, I spent most of the day in bed. I finally succumbed to the nastiness that downed [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills earlier this week. We were supposed to go to Vermont today, but that didn't happen. Which was good, in a way - my parents had to bring my sister's car to New York this weekend, and they lost power today. *sigh* So I had to go to Nottingham and do one of two things: either reassure my father that yes, his power was back on so the pipes wouldn't freeze, or stay there and light a fire in the fireplace, so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Did I mention it was 15 degrees F (about -10 degrees C) here at that point?

Luckily, the power was back on. I've been calling their phone (which won't pick up when the power is out) about every hour, and I've promised them that if it doesn't pick up, I'll go out to the house and light the fire. It made him feel better :)

So I'm home, and upright, and editing. Although I might write a bit too - I had a couple of revelations about Seasons driving home last night (namely, who Shanna and Justin's parents were, who Madness' partner in crime is and why she needs Alex so desperately), so that might happen.

And lots of tea. Lots and lots of tea.

Celebrating!!!

I went to see my GI today, and got some really good news: as of today, I have been in remission now for 4 years.

FOUR YEARS.

In celebration, he took me off the Imuran, which was the one drug (it's an immunosuppressive) that I was worried about taking while pregnant. In addition, if I don't have any problems by my next appointment (in 3 months), he's going to start tapering my Pentasa, and he may even get rid of it completely.

Then all I'd be on is the Remicade, once every 8 weeks, and the Prilosec once a day.

Yippee!!!

Just checked the contest...

And it said if you submitted your hook before 10 am EST on Friday, you should be in the contest.

Yay!!!!!!

And yay to [livejournal.com profile] snitchcat, Mistyk (who needs a LJ, hint, hint) and [livejournal.com profile] catrinp as well, since I know they submitted about the same time I did! Good luck, ladies!

finished my first short story!

It's VERY rough, and [livejournal.com profile] mooseythehut has already helped me see the big flaws in it, so I'm going to be rewriting it. It's a good start, though, and for someone who usually thinks in NOVEL and WORLD as opposed to story, it was an interesting exercise. I think I might have to do some more of these.

I also have a new plotbunny. *rolls eyes* Courtesy of my good friend Donna, who was nice enough to give it to me. It's a paranormal, and involves vampires, werewolves, mages and a nasty drug to sterilize all the "Blips" - those with no magical ability at all. Heroine is a Blip, and hero is a nonmagical person back here on Earth who runs into her, her best friend the vampire, and her other best friend the werewolf, when they end up here on Earth. I'm very excited about it. Terrible plotbunny!

Bad on updates...

Did I ever mention that I suck at updates? Well, I do. :)

January is a busy month at work, so time to write and update is short. I've been bad - haven't been keeping things up. I did write last night, and needed to update the count:

I need to update the million word meter too, but I'll do that at the end of the night tonight.

Now time to write...

Brief update

I have been fighting a cold this week, not to mention giving up most of my caffeine intake, and consequently spending little time writing. I'm looking forward (now that my head is clearing a bit) to getting more done.

Just thought I'd let you all know. :)

Besides, it's the final week of regular season play for the Red Sox, and we're neck and neck with the Evil Empire. You think I can concentrate on ROMANCE now?
