(personal) thoughts on a Monday morning

1. Thank you to everyone who posted about my friend Cheryl. It was really shocking for me to find out that someone younger than I (only a year, but still) died of breast cancer. She fought for 5 years, and I can only hope I'd be that strong.

2. Her death has, however, made me more determined than ever to lose the extra weight I'm carrying. I'm already at high risk for breast cancer for two reasons: it runs on BOTH sides of my family, and I have Crohn's disease, which is a precursor to both breast and stomach cancer. The extra 100 lbs I'm carrying is just more risk that I can actually control. So I got up this morning and went into the gym and ran through my routine for the first time. Um, ow. :p But it will get better.

3. I need to really start carving out more writing time. I did a lot yesterday, but I'm shorting myself during the week. Bah.

Yikes! I missed this one, careless reader that I am.
Shit, I'm really sorry. That's rough. I hope you never have the opportunity to have to be that strong.

Writing and exercise. Exercise and writing. Seems like they are mutually exclusive a lot of the time. I wish you the best of luck, and, if you find something better than ass-dancing in the chair (which I do when I'm writing and no one is looking, or in my car when I've got the cruise on. It actually does do something for my energy level, but I think that's more the fear of getting discovered) let me know.

Thanks. :)

Actually, scary as it may seem, I think this first thing in the morning routine twice a week is going to work. Shudder, as this former night owl is doing, but if I get my butt in the gym at 6 am, I'm out at 7:15 and it's DONE for the day. And it wakes me up better than soda ever did.

How freaking scary is that? I haven't had a soda in over a month.

BTW, meant to mention I noticed at Birka that you had been clearly losing some weight. Keep it up - I KNOW what a battle this can be!

Thanks!

And yes, we will need to have that sequel conversation. Maybe at Quest? I'll still be writing sequels at that point. (I feel like I'll be writing sequels until I DIE>>>>>)

I'm sorry about your friend and for missing the original post about it--much love to you and your workout routine this morning!

This is a real {HUG} because I'm not anywhere near close enough to give you a physical one.

And some *Fruity Sherbet Hoogles* for good measure :)
