Same thing that makes me crave sweets when I am studying. Used to eat entire packages of cookies in grad school. I always believed it was at least a few senses demanding relief from an unpleasant task, making it easier to focus the important ones on the task at hand. (or maybe I just liked a justification to spend a limited food budget on chocolate chips)
