I'm re-reading the Advent Story today, making character lists and notes for when I redo it for Advent Murders, and remembering why I loved writing this story. It's a fun place. Everyone's nice (for the most part). It's full of magic.

It's PERFECT for a murder. Almost begging for it. I can see Miss Marple in the corner, knitting a baby blanket and waiting for the axe to fall.

I'm also going to be putting up a Molly's Kitchen soon, because I will be down on the Cape tomorrow for my grandmother's surgery. I might have internet access, but I don't know. I will have MiniMe with me, and will continue to work on both Tales and Molly.

In sinus news - bleah. I hate fronts right now.

Seriously. And now, on the tail end of the meds for the sinus infection and double ear infection (the strep test came back negative), I'm FINALLY feeling like I might actually be able to start doing things.

We went to Black Rose Ball yesterday, and with the driving and the stupid time change (I hate Daylight Savings Time with a passion), I didn't get up until 1 pm today. So far, I have watched the Red Sox (we're currently losing, sadly, but the game isn't over yet), taken a bath and eaten two slices of BBQ Chicken pizza. I'm finally starting to feel a bit human and ready to do stuffs.

So, we have an actual to-do list today, because I have things I want to do. Including cooking. And maybe baking.

To-Do on a Lazy Sunday:
- Morning Pages
- Metrics Blog Post from the first two months of the year
- Rewrite "The Sun Never Sets"
- Make 1 batch of pizza dough In the bread machine! I adore my bread machine for making dough, seriously.
- Make Stromboli for the week
- Make Empanadas for the week
must do both of these again. So damn good!
- Fold laundry and put it away
- Edit more for Spells and Swashbucklers

Hmm. I think I'll be getting my arse in gear fairly soon. First, I need tea. Yes, tea.

Oh, and I almost forgot! I have a new cousin! Harland McKenna was born yesterday morning! I don't have the specifics with me, but he's a healthy baby boy, so congrats to my cousin Stacia!!!
Because I gotta run, and I'm still not dressed. (Yeah, I know, you wanted to hear that. I'm in my pjs still, guys! Seriously!)

Got about 600 words done on the summary for Tales last night, before I succumbed to the Evil that is The Guild - I'm finally caught up to Season 4. Took me until 1 am, but I'm almost caught up!!!!

Know how I'm going to rework the first episode of Tales, so I can do that tonight, after dinner with the parentals. Yay!

And I am pleased that I am finally being an adult and realizing that there are certain things that must be done every day. Yeah, it's taken a while - I can be a slow learner sometimes.

Now, I need to clean up after breakfast, clean the litter box and then head out. Have a good Sunday, folks, and I'll be back later tonight!
Dark Moon Seasons is winging its way back to my editor as we speak, and I have Belladonna Dreams open. Time to get back on track with my NaNo.

And my living room looks AWESOME. I count that as a victory.

Just don't look in the kitchen or dining room.

What is it about writing that makes me crave salt, soda and pizza?

Discuss.

It is still snowing. I am very, very sick of snow at this point - and the next storm starts tomorrow afternoon. They were asking on the drive in what you would like to drop off the Empire State Building to celebrate the New Year. I'm honestly thinking that whoever asked for all this snow is my first choice.

(And yes, I asked for snow for Yule. Yule was TWO WEEKS AGO!!!)

First day on the new shift. Hoping for a very quiet day.

[livejournal.com profile] jackoutofthebox, I'm working until 5 pm - I put in for VTO at 3 but don't know if I'll get it. Then I have to jet back home, pick up [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills and we'll be down. Say about 7 pm?

Will be checking in here today periodically - like I said, I'm hoping it's dead. I have Dreams here and will be editing as I can.

More later.

Edit one: Morning was super busy. Now, I think stuff is quieting down - I want to get my budget/checking account up to snuff, then I'll be editing.
I doubt I'll have a lot of updates this week. Due to the storm yesterday, I got up way early, and got home way late (but I got lots of exercise, between shoveling the driveway in the morning and cleaning off the car at night), and so got no writing done (literally, I walked through the door, toasted an english muffin, ate it and went to bed). However, I might get some done tonight. We'll see.

The Company Holiday Party(tm) is tomorrow night, so instead of working my noraml shift of 11:30 am to 8 pm, I'm working 8:30 am to 5 pm. Bleah. But getting to have dinner with hubby, yay! We're going to watch Spiderman 3 and some of our other movies. And Cake for dessert - I'm determined. :D There might even be some WoWing done.

Thursday, I'm ALSO working 8:30 am to 5 pm, because Donna and I are going to see Dierks Bentley at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. He's her fav country artist, so the tickets are my Christmas present to her. Needless to say, there will be very little writing done Thursday.

Friday - I have regular shift, and then Dance class!!! I'm so excited - I haven't danced in over a year, and I'm going back!!! That's why today's icon is what it is. Yay belly-dancing!! I have to find my stuff.

Gods, my life is boring. :p But I leave you with a hot image:

Well, I got a ton done this morning! Which is a good thing, because I just saw my schedule for the next two weeks. *falls over dead* Well, at least I'll be able to pay a bunch off my credit card.

I'm working 12-12 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, and then Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the week afterwards. Lots of OT. Lots of time and a half.

Not a lot of time to cook. Guess what Val will be doing Sunday?

Today, I made a yummy banana bread and then a huge steak. Lunch tomorrow for [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills and I most likely will be steak quesidillas (which will make him very happy!), since Donna is making me dinner tomorrow night.

I finished the chapter and sent it off. Now I have to work on the outline for Darkness and finish up the edits on Sacrifice by the 31st. And I need to make [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills' Halloween costume (which shouldn't take too long, luckily).

For my writing friends, dinner on Saturday will be the 5-lb pork roast currently defrosting in my fridge - I think I'm going to layer apples, garlic and onions in the center and around it and roast it in the oven Saturday. Maybe with roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and root veggies? Sound good?

More later tonight.

Wow. It's been a busy few days. I'm sorry I haven't posted - I haven't had time!

The day job is picking up - we're heading into Annual Enrollment season, so I'll be working more hours there. And there are changes coming with that too - suffice to say, I shall not be working nights much longer.

Like I posted before, I finished Blood Sacrifice on Monday night - now I'm working on my chapter for the Magic guide book. Honestly, I don't know why this is giving me fits, but it is. I've eked out a few words yesterday and a few today - I'm determined to finish it this week. I have tomorrow at [livejournal.com profile] beard5's and Friday at the hospital (Remicade treatment). It's only supposed to be 4-8k - I shouldn't be having this much problem with it.

The final draft of Sacrifice is due to the editor of the anthology on October 31, so that's next week's project. I'm working on the backbone of Descent Into Darkness during my lunch periods this week, since that's my NaNo this year.

Oh, and I set up the NH group! We're under the group forums - it's the NH/SCA group. Join us if you're in the area - we will be doing at least one write-in during November!

Signing off for now.

Yes, it's Monday, but I'm in a super mood. Had a great weekend, got a lot done today (not as much as I WANTED, but a lot) and it's beautiful out. What more could one ask for?

I bit the bullet and weighed in today. I've broken 260!!! I'm so excited - my weight is currently 258 lbs. I only have EIGHT MORE POUNDS to go to hit my first mini-goal of 10%! Woohoo!

Now, you have to understand what I ate this weekend. Pizza. WHOLE MILK YOUGURT. Dessert Pizza. Beef Roast. Apple Caramel Pecan Crisp.

Yeah, I love this diet.

I did a lot of cooking this weekend - made the crisp, the roast and a homemade tuna cassarole (that's what I had for breakfast this morning, actually), and cleaned my kitchen. I will do my living room tomorrow - I mean it!!!

Also got about 500 words done on Sacrifice this morning - I've got Puck with me for lunch, so we're going to go out onto the patio and do another 500/1000.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Oh, and Mom said I could have her bread machine!

Today was actually a good day. Here's how the remainder of my list worked out.

2. Finish my damn chapter (finally!)-no, but I got 1400 words, which is a damn sight better than I had before.
3. 10k on Seasons-got a good start on it - 1500 words and the prologue done.
4. Get Dreams printed out (I might need to get a printer cartridge for this, I think we're out)
5. Vacuum the living room
6. Four loads of laundry-Yes!!!
7. Make zucchini bread tonight (when it's not as hot)-nope. Not tonight.

Not bad. Now to bed, and to do tomorrow.
So today at work, my goals are thus:

- Finish pouch for gold/blue dress -except for the button/frog/whatever I decide to close this thing with and the belt loop on the back, which I need the belt for to measure, that is
- Finish neckline for gold/blue dress
- Add trim to gold/blue dress
- Write up packing list for Pennsic -And I don't think I forgot anything!!! Shocking!
- Finish Chapter 5 of Seasons -Mostly. I have to tweak it a bit, but it's doneish.

Working on neckline now. Bleah.

Wow. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] zombiegoat for alerting me to all the changes Theo is making!

First, Kason Gabbard has gone to the Rangers in return for Eric Gagne. This gives Tito the chance to make Papelbon a starter if needed. I'm sad to see Kason go, but it will be cool to see how he does out of the media bearpit that is Boston. Good luck to you, Kason!

Second, Joel Pinero is gone too, sent to the Cardinels for a player to be named later. Hmm, wonder who on the Cards team Theo has his eye on?

And finally, in a bizarre move, the Evil Empire gets another hitter for a reliever. What is going on? Um, they're HITTING, they aren't getting PITCHING, so let's get another HITTER and trade Scott Proctor! Yeah. Brilliant. I think Cashman's finally lost it.

So sayeth I. *grin* I'll shut up now.

Edit: Well, well. Gagne's going to be Jonathan's set-up man and backup. How very interesting.

No writing yet, but I slept until 2 pm, then watched the Red Sox beat the White Sox again while trying to figure out a dress pattern. I think I have one I like now, so I'll be trying a dress out in some cotton fabric to see if it works. Yay dress dummies!!!

Tonight is cookies, I think - gotta use the dough from [livejournal.com profile] liamstliam that I have in my refrigerator. And laundry. And more sewing - if this pattern works, then I've got to cut a bunch more and then cut some tunics for [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills for Pennsic. This week is sewing, sewing and sewing! And Writing!

More later.
I didn't do any writing. I'll state that up front (and yes, I'm heading over to [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 to do my mea culpas and take my lumps), but it was a good weekend nonetheless.

Saturday was the faire. It was a new faire, and as such, I think we had maybe 100 people. BUT, Dereca and I made enough to cover our site fee, plus a bit more for dinner, so we're counting it a good day. Especially since we had a GORGEOUS day weather-wise, and neither of us got sunburned. But we didn't leave the site until about 8:30 pm (we helped some other folks pack up) and I didn't get home until after 11 pm. So, since I'd been up since 6 am on 4 hours of sleep for the prior two days, I gave up and went to bed.

Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills let me sleep until 1:30 pm. Heaven!!! Then I slugged for the rest of the day. I did laundry, watched a very old horror movie with Zsa Zsa Gabor called "Picture Mommy Dead" and watched the Sox lose (boo). I did some brainstorming on WHY the book wasn't working with [livejournal.com profile] tambowrites - thank you again, hon, for letting me whine at you!!!! But no writing.

Today, I got up and went to the doctor's to get my varicose veins looked at. The guy was obnoxious (I don't like him) but his scale rocked - I'm down to 254.1 lbs!!! That's a stunning total of 23.9 lbs since January!!! And one of the girls at work stopped me and told me I looked AWESOME - made my day!

Of course, that was balanced by the realization that I left ALL my stuff for Seasons and Sacrifice at home (sigh). So I'm going to start the new brainstorming/outlining for Treaty. Since I've gotten a wee bit more sophisticated since I last looked at it.

I'm going to work with [livejournal.com profile] domynoe's sheets on this again, and see how it works. Very exciting!

Oh, and it was a good news/bad news day at work. Bad news? I have to work OT tomorrow - 12:30 pm to 12 am. Bah. Good news? My friend Rick is making me dinner! Yay!

More later.

Awesome things happening today.

1. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] magicnoire for this tidbit on Ghosthunters - alas, I cannot be available in October 2007 (since that's work's busy season), so I'll just have to watch. New episodes are on now, though - I'll have to start taping again!

2. Life is starting to get back to normal. Sunday is a WRITING DAY! Saturday I'll be braiding hair and selling stuff to little girls at the Ren Faire. Wish me luck!

3. Fried chicken for dinner. With garlic mashed potatoes and onion dill bread. Why yes, I'm not following my Weight Watchers this week, why do you ask??? (actually, except for the massive amount of soda I've been drinking, I've been pretty good)

4. Ep. 1 of Broken Wings will be done by Sunday. Do I have any comic book readers who'd like to proof-read for stupid errors for me?

5. More later.

Wow. What a week. And it's only Wednesday.

For starters, I had to be down in Worcester at 8 am Monday morning to get Argus' car fixed. Then it was home to change and shower, then work. Tuesday was trying to clean the new house, which I didn't get very far into because my mother called to tell me my grandmother was in the ICU and they didn't know if she'd make it. Went to work again (because having all of us descend on the ICU in Manchester would have been counter-productive) and stressed the entire day.

Today was back to Worcester, for my Remicade treatment. Found out that Gram has an ulcer - they're treating it with medication and she'll be back in the nursing home by tomorrow. Good news there. But I'm exhausted, and all the soda in the world isn't keeping me awake. I'm alternating black tea and Pepsi - I'd do coffee, but then I'd be in pain.

Tomorrow, I have to clean out the car for Quest. Friday, I have to repack the car, for Quest. And Saturday, we'll be out the door by 6 am at the latest, so we can be there by noon.

And then Val collapses.

No, then Val fences! And then drinks!!! And then collapses. :)

Despite this schedule, I've gotten a bit done on the reworked plot summary for Seasons. Found out that Rick and Justin LIED to Nikki - when she finds out, there's going to be hell to pay. And the story is much, much more interesting now.

I'm bringing Cassandra to Quest (stop, I'm on a deadline!!!) and I'm determined to spend at least 1 hour a day on the computer, writing. Even if I have to retreat to the car to do it.

More later.
My father rocks. He really does.

Yesterday, I drove down to CT with my parents for my grandfather's 80th birthday. The entire 3-hr drive down and 3-hr drive back, Dad and I discussed the plot arc for Seasons and Rites. He gave me some VERY, VERY good ideas, and really liked some of my plot points. And he helped me with the military stuff, which I'm never very good at.

So I'm very happy. Today's plans include:

- Breakfast with hubby (okay, it's lunch, but it's El Toro pizza!!!)
- Finish cleaning the old apartment and drop off the keys

- Fold laundry
- Clean out the car
- WRITE!!!!

Oh, and I need to find a new health plan - apparently I'm too far away from MA now to stay on Tufts. *sigh* I'm really upset by this, but I have a choice between Matthew Thorton Blue and Harvard Pilgrim, so I need to see which ones will cover my doctors and my hospital the best. And I have a Remicade treatment this week, of course.

More later.

Edit: Well, the truly important stuff got done. As I have to be in Worcester as close to 8 am tomorrow morning *grumble* that I can manage to get the hubby's car fixed, I'm heading to bed early, so I can be up when my alarm goes off at oh-god thirty. We have a health plan (HPHC, if anyone's interested) and I have lots to do this week.

This is my very first LJ post done on the new laptop. She's GORGEOUS! She has an amazingly soft keyboard, and it's just the right size for my hands. I'm going to actually try writing a bit on her tomorrow - tonight, I'm just playing. :p

Yes, the contest to name her and the desktop is still open. Some people have been sending in "twin" names, to keep a theme going - interesting concept! The contest runs until March 31st, and I'll announce the winner on either April 1 or 2nd. It depends on how the weekend goes.

In other news, we got the apartment we were looking at!!! So in April, [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills and I will be moving to the Concord area. A 3-bedroom duplex - I cannot WAIT. I'll have my own sewing room/office, and Himself will have his own gaming room. And the kittens will have a staircase to run up and down. *grin*

The best news? We'll have our own washer and dryer again. So no more spending $20 every two weeks to do laundry. Heaven!

Well, I need to finish customizing this little girl, and I have to go to bed in about an hour, so I'm off.
