Went to the eye doctor's today, and I am now sitting in front of my computer with my first set of contacts in almost 8 years. It's very cool. I'd forgotten how clear peripheral vision looks.
Got contacts because now I'm authorized in schlager, and I'm not comfortable fencing with my glasses on. Foil/Epee shot to the face mask with glasses? No problem. Schlager shot to the face mask with glasses? Um, no. Sorry.
And my eye doctor was nice enough to give me an extra set of free contacts, just to make sure I had enough to get me through Pennsic! Yay!
So today at work, my goals are thus:
- Finish pouch for gold/blue dress
- Finish neckline for gold/blue dress
- Add trim to gold/blue dress
- Write up packing list for Pennsic
- Finish Chapter 5 of Seasons
Still no I/R receiver. *grump*
However, my new CD shipped! Got "Ireland by Sail" by Northeast Winds - LOVE this group! My folks used to take us to see Allan, Emery, Paula and Taylor when we were younger - they've since broken up, but I still have fond memories of going to outdoor concerts and hearing them. I can't wait for this to come in!

Well, I washed linen last night - tonight, I'll be cutting and sewing everything. I'm doing hems/necklines/trim at work - after 8 pm, the calls DIE, so I have plenty of time.
I'm even accessorizing now. I have a pouch made that matches the dress I'm hemming right now. *dies of the girlyness of it all*

No writing yet, but I slept until 2 pm, then watched the Red Sox beat the White Sox again while trying to figure out a dress pattern. I think I have one I like now, so I'll be trying a dress out in some cotton fabric to see if it works. Yay dress dummies!!!

I've already bought something too. *blush* It's a book on writing for comics, and it was only $8 with shipping included. So very cool. I can't wait.
I'm waiting to hear on 3 others, but that's it. And nothing over $10 (with shipping included). Luckily, I'm not looking for anything but books right now.

Gotta do more writing tonight. I'm starting to really knuckle down. And that's good, because there are more projects looming on the horizon. Since work is sewing time now, I don't have that excuse (although I need to start doing some sewing at home too).

Tomorrow is pack the garb box (fairly quick, asargus7hills folded everything for me, thank you sweetie!), go to the grocery store and pack the cooler.
Then I'm driving up to GNEW after work. Yeah, I work until midnight - so I'll see you all around what, 3 or 4 am? :D

And I didn't even play! Watched the second half of the Red Sox-White Sox game today. NINETEEN innings! Yes, NINETEEN. It was spectacular, even if we did lose. 6-5. *sigh* Oh well, by the end, I'm not sure anyone cared anymore, LOL.
Now on to the All-Star break. The good news is that the Yankees lost today too, so we're still in 1st place and didn't lose any ground against them going into the break.
