I am wearing a dark green shirt and green shamrock socks, and it is bright, sunny, supposed to be 63 degrees today, and I have VTO at 3:30 pm. Life is GOOD!!!

No gym today - yesterday was AWFUL, so I decided I needed sleep and a slow morning. Up at 6:30, a leisurely bath, breakfast and folding laundry, then putting the corned beef in the crockpot with carrots and parsnips (I forgot potatoes) and heading into work.

Still listening to Weather Child - almost done with it though. *sniff* Next is The Dreamer's Thread by Starla Hutchins.

Writing and painting runestones today. That's the agenda for the studio.

Now that I have the laptop back, it's time to set the screws. I'm doing a quick perusal of LJ while I eat and wake up, then it's into the salt mines. I'm going to see how much of this book I can pound out. I have laundry going, but that's something that can go on in the background. Mike's coming over after 5 pm to watch the Sox game, but until then, the TV is off, I'm in FM chat and I'm heading into DII chat. My lovely writing pals keep me on track.

So, I'm working 3 12-hr shifts Monday through Wednesday next week. This requires planning on my part, because I will be damned if:

a) I will eat out every lunch break and/or dinner break.
b) I will have soda again.

This means that I have to do a few things - hey, [livejournal.com profile] beard5, what's your thoughts on stopping at a Family Dollar tomorrow and looking at some Bento Boxes? I'm going to get either some of the Hello Kitty ones that they supposedly have (it's either them or Dollar Tree) or some Lock-n-Locks from Target/Walmart. I'm going to be packing bentos for lunch and dinner for all three days.

I want to make up some peanut noodles (yummy!) and maybe I'll try some furikake rice or some rice balls (I think they're called onigri). I'm also going to see if I can find some cookie cutters I can use to shape the rice and do some hard-boiled eggs.

I need to get some fillers for the boxes (cherry tomatoes, grapes, etc) and some paper cupcake cups.

I'm also going to make some cranberry bread and maybe some chicken casserole for the week.

More later.

Oh, and my bento shipped already!!!

I'm so tired. I literally slept until 11 am this morning, despite the fact that my to-do list is a mile and a half long. I just couldn't go anymore.

Needless to say, writing has been minimal this week. As in, non-existant. Hopefully I'll have more this weekend - I'm pretty much taking Sunday off. I've been getting in at roughly 2 a.m. this entire week. It sucks.

Tomorrow, I have to be in at work at 8:30 a.m. (yes, I do work nights and yes, I did say "a.m."), so I can be in Rhode Island for testing on time. Sucky that I have to get up, but it's good for me, and I'll get dinner with [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills tomorrow night. Yay!

Saturday is clean the old apartment day. Donna and Jess are being kind enough to come over and help sandblast clean with me. Then I'm off to writer's group at [livejournal.com profile] aishabintjamil's, where I shall inflict bring the new opening to Seasons. Hopefully, they like it.

Sunday, Mom and Dad are coming over for dinner for Mother's Day. I'm planning Garlicky Lamb Chops with a Lemon-Rosemary Vinagrette, Couscous with Peas, Biscuits and Garlic Broccoli for dinner, with Pecan Caramel Bites for dessert. I hope they'll like it. :D

And then...it's Monday again! yay.

Hope all the moms out there have a great Mother's Day!
My bad. I forgot to post this yesterday before I went to bed.

Word Counts for Belladonna Dreams

Goal for the day: 750
Actual words written:
1078

Starting line: The last one had almost accepted him.

Ending line: “Shut up!” I said, flushing.

Darling: “If I could, I would, darling,” he said, drawing out the last word sarcastically. “But since I’m not a Daywalker, I’m tied to this place until I can get a new body. So if you want the boy, and you want to be able to actually consummate the relationship WITHOUT him dying first, I suggest you find me another subject.”

Edward's getting quite snarky, and there's dissention in the ranks of evil. I love it! And I've come up with the idea for the sequel (well, the premise, anyways), and it involves my world's version of TAPS, so I'm hoping I might be able to maybe observe them on a case or two. Hey, I can ask, right? Hopefully, by the time I do, I'll have at least an agent for Dreams, if not a contract for the series, so that would lend a bit of clout to the request. :)

Today, we're going to see either TMNT or The Last Mimzy, then going to check out the new apartment, and then I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] beard5's to get a table for my new office/sewing room. So words will have to wait until tonight, after 8. But I will do words! I will!
Really I did. I was going to clean, and sew, and write, and cook, and pack...

But my cold had plans too. And apparently my cold is more enthusiastic about its plans than I am about mine.

I got the laundry folded in the living room - got three little bags finished for tax court on Saturday, and made an orange bundt cake and a loaf of pumpkin-cranberry bread. Now, I'm going to try and write.

I'm mulling over all the reactions to my new hook (thank you, everyone!!!), and will be working on that as well. But I have a question that I'm going to throw out there - shouldn't your hook tell what the major problem your MC faces is? Or should you leave that for the synopsis?

And yes, I'm asking these questions because, well, I've never had to write a hook or a synopsis or a query letter before. Stop looking at me like that. :P

I have the head cold from hell. It feels like someone has run me over with a steamroller. So I have called in sick, and will be doing...I don't know what today. Probably sleeping for a good part of it.

I think I might try and get some of the crits that I have outstanding done as well. We'll see. My laptop isn't that great for editing (because it doesn't have a mouse) but the couch and then bed are more comfortable than my chair. Then again, I'll probably just fall asleep.

I need to work on bags, too. And the tabards for Tax Court. *sigh* Even a day off isn't.

Little written, because I worked a 12+ hour day. But I wrote!!!

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 342

Starting line: The next morning dawned icy and clear – the frost glittering on the grass outside was a sure sign winter was on its way.

Ending line: “Hah!” she said. Great, I couldn’t even convince the weak sister. My chances of convincing Ellen were vanishing quickly.

Darling: none, sadly.

More tomorrow - [livejournal.com profile] beard5 has promised me a sanctuary to write in that doesn't include internet to distract me! So I should have lots to post tomorrow. And more for SB - I came up with a good plot twist today at work. *Did I mention I hate long days when I'm bored out of my skull and can't even write, because I'm brain-dead?*

Oh, and possibly good news coming soon!

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 338

Starting line: Both Alis and James were crumpled on the loam, and there was blood.

Ending line: The howl of the ambulance jolted me back to myself abruptly.

Darling: For a moment, I couldn’t tell where her flesh ended and the pooling blood started – she was covered in it, and I was afraid Ellen had completely lost it and skinned her alive.

Home early tonight (gotta love snow!) so I'm gearing up for a lot of writing tonight, and a lot of editing tomorrow. And then, maybe some playing with the Audacity tonight. Yup, I'm contemplating a podcast.

- Have Partylite open house and make oodles of money. (well, not oodles, but it was a good show)
- Clean living room
- Write 750 words on Belladonna Dreams so I don't get mocked (done - see above)
- Write up Ajax for Broken Wings

Those are the main goals. We'll see how long that takes me - I have a Partylite conference call tonight as well, and I need to see when I get more money in my Partylite account, so I can afford some new stuff. :p

More updates later.

Well, since we can't make it to Connecticut tomorrow (because of a baby shower - sigh, sorry Erik and Kate!!!), hubby has decided to go to Worcester and hang out with the boys and drink tonight. I have a PartyLite party at 7:30, but then I'm going to come home (stopping for Chinese food on the way. Crab rangoon, potstickers and coconut shrimp! Yum!) and just write. As much as I can. As long as I can.

Words, here I come! And I have lots of black tea, so I don't even need soda! Although I might invest in sparkling water.

Bring on the Christmas Carols - I feel the need to write dark tonight.

Heading off to my last day of work before vacation (yay!) and just finishing up things. The living room needs to be picked up, but that's really it, and the kitchen needs to be tidied. I can do those now - once I get dressed for work.

Got another 20 pages done on Tony's book - I'm going to make a push tonight and try and finish it.

My basket is packed for Pennsic - just need to drop my meds and my money in tomorrow. I've got the camera cleaned up (525 pictures - will that be enough?) and the kittens are worn out with their new toys.

Just need to call the hotel and make sure we can check in around 10 pm (shouldn't be a problem) and then go to work!

More later...
Updating, that is. Hell, I need to get better about the primary rule of writing: that is, applying one's butt to one's chair, opening one's manuscript and WORKING!!!

Problem is that I have so much stuff going on. I need to practice focusing. That's my goal for next week: to write at least 100 words a day on Belladonna.

My Muse bit me again today - woke up with an amazing idea that is now sitting in my "to be written someday" file. It's a post-holocaust story - with magic and the SCA thrown in. Should be fun. *wink*

In to work early today, but I have two glorious days this weekend to WRITE! I'm even thinking about just setting up my candle party next week and not going to Donna's tomorrow, so I can enjoy the solitude (Argus has a bachelor party to go to) and just write.

That sounds like a really good idea. I need to start wrapping up Bella soon, and I'm only 1/4 of the way into the book. *sigh*

Oprah's apparently started her book club again. I should send her a copy of Horseman.

More later - off to work now.

Stuffed nose and all - bleah.

Having to actually chase my cat around the apartment to give him his medicine - yay! I'm just glad he has so much energy now! :)

Unfortunately, I've been so busy taking care of Max and stressing over him (just a bit!) that the cold that has been threatening for a while just hit like a nuclear bomb. I am writing, because that keeps me upright, which makes it slightly easier to breathe.

Slightly.

It also keeps me from snoring so loud that I keep Argus awake.

So I will write tonight, and then go make sweet and sour kielbasa for him to take tomorrow, and then I will sleep.

Hopefully. That's the plan.
