Because I really feel I should use more of them than I do. And Kitty and Lockheed are just cool.

I have not seen the Wolverine movie yet - maybe we'll see that this weekend, along with Star Trek. It depends on the boyo and what he wants to do.

Had my sleep study last night - very odd experience. They had me try out a CPAP machine in the middle of the night - they say I slept better after that, although I felt like I woke up a few times. Might have just been dreams, though. I felt really good this morning, though, so hey, if it works, I'll wear it! I want one that covers my nose and mouth, though. Just the nose one left me with a dry feeling in my mouth this morning.

I'm off work for the next week to take care of some personal things - I'll still be blogging, though. And writing. My goal is to have a rough draft of Velvet Box done by next Sunday.

Then it's time to start working on Last Rites. Also, be on the lookout for some emails/posts from the Admiral and his secretary on the Dept. V stuff (which I am WOEFULLY behind on and I apologize!) - they're coming!

Oh, and just because WOKQ played it this morning, in honor of Star Trek coming out, I give you The Firm:

Edited to add: Seeing Wolverine tonight, and have promised [livejournal.com profile] irysangel that I will post a review. And my doctor called - they have the results of my sleep study already. O.o I'm getting a CPAP.

Saw it. Still processing. Mostly enjoyed - will echo [livejournal.com profile] time_testudiem's comment about blue nudity. Seemed a bit much. I haven't read the comics, so I'm coming at it from the average Joe perspective.

Good lord, there was a LOT of blue nudity. But it was an interesting movie.

I'm coming to the conclusion that most of these graphic novels (this, Sin City, 300) are just not my cup of tea. Yes, they're gorgeous movies. But once I've seen them? No interest in seeing them again.

Although I must admit, I loved the opening sequence. That really was awesome.

Maybe more later. I think I have an ear infection and am going to go try and sleep.

Oh, and I'm declaring the rest of March a Horseman-free month. I refuse to start on Rites until April. I think I'm going to go for, as Monty Python used to say, "Something completely different."

No, I don't know what. But I'm sure I'll figure something out.

I got almost nothing done I wanted to, lost a crit (grrr) to the Internets and had to update my big computer yesterday, so it was a weird weekend, but all in all, I'm not as upset as I feel I should be. If that makes sense. :p

Went and saw "Rise of the Lycans" yesterday with Michael de Calais (who needs to get a LJ account!) and [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills - I really enjoyed it. Then again, I loved both of the other "Underworld" movies - this one followed in their footsteps. And Lucian...mmmm, Lucian. There was one minor consistancy glitch from the Sonia story told in the first movie, but we all instantly saw why they did it. No spoilers, but I really did like it. However, [livejournal.com profile] jackoutofthebox, SO not appropriate for the Halflings. Not yet. Very violent. (One guy caught a javelin in the face and got pinned to the wall. Even we went, "Oh gross!")

I have some things that I actually managed to get printed out to crit today. Unfortunately, I'd started a crit on Saturday and managed to not save it (not sure how, because I distinctly REMEMBER saving it, but I couldn't find it this morning), so I'm starting it over. Work has been major busy today, so it might have to wait until tomorrow, but I WILL get my two crits listed. Seriously.

And dammit, I'm making broccoli quiche tomorrow night. I have everything I need and it's laughing at me. Dammit. No more excuses. (Tonight I have class.)

This week, I'm going to be very busy with class/Birka prep (nope, haven't started sewing yet, of course), so I don't know how much writing I'll get done.

Oh, and it has come to my attention that a few folks got left off (unintentionally!) from the Mirrors filter, so I'll throw it open again. I'm writing a book transparently on LJ. If you want in and don't think you are on that filter, reply in comments.
More lists. [livejournal.com profile] shadawyn, you're not the only one who lives according to their lists! :)

1. at least 750 words on Seasons
2. 3 loads of laundry

3. finish cleaning up living room
4. Set up crockpot roast for tomorrow in fridge, so it can just be put out tomorrow morning.

Oh, and just saw a trailer for The Forbidden Kingdom. I know where I will be on April 18th. Wow!

And fwiw, The Scariest Places on Earth is one of the cheesiest paranormal shows I've ever seen.
Well, it's about quarter past 10, and I've got a full day in already. We went to [livejournal.com profile] kuzushi's house today for dinner and movies - we watched 300 and an older film called "The 300 Spartans." Both very good in their own ways (we had seen 300 already, but they hadn't). And we had steak and rice and peas. Yummy!

Now, here's my to-do list tonight:

1. do dishes done, mostly. I need to let the ones I washed dry so I can put them away and then have room for the rest of them.
2. do two crits for DII (yeah, it's more than I need to, but I want to start catching up and doing some more there) I did one. So I'm good for the month. I got distracted.
3. finish the timeline for Seasons
4. 1k on Blood Sacrifice

Off to catch up on LJ and then off to work.

Update the first: Full Metal Alchemist is way cool. I've already gone through one disc, and started the second. Seriously. Wow. I have to remember that I need to get up and meet Mom tomorrow.

One more episode...

Check out Orson Welles' final film.

Too cool.

The movie, not me, silly peoples. I'll let my family know that first when it happens, not LJ. :p

Very cute movie. Same people who did 40-Year-Virgin, so I was expecting funny. It had some "AWWW" moments too, though. I enjoyed it.

Then went and picked up Argus' elbows from Dad, then home to write. And watch the Red Sox beat the Giants again. (LOVE my DVR!)

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] liamstliam, what's the magic number now? :D

Now, guess who has tickets for the midnight showing tonight??? :D

Yup, hubby won them at work today. And I just happened to have some hours of vacation unallocated...

So I'm out of here at 11 pm, and going to enjoy myself.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] domynoe for the brain kick that allowed me to come up with tag lines for the Horseman series:

Not Your Father's Horseman: Be careful what you wish for.
Dark Moon Seasons: Be careful who you trust.
Last Rites: Be careful where you go.

Well, went to see TMNT with Donna, Ian (her six-year-old son) and [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills. It was a fun movie, not quite what I was expecting, but fun. And had some good lines. Patrick Stewart and Sarah Michelle Gellar are some of the actors lending voices to it - SMG was April, and was really good.

Then we went to dinner with our (hopefully!) future landlords and filled out the rental application. I need to get them a few more pieces of information, but that's all. Just a few phone numbers. Then crossing our fingers and continuing to pack. :)

I'm trying a new method of writing today. I've got a timer I've downloaded from the Net, and I'm doing 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. It seems to be working. Go me! I need to start getting solid counts in - I feel like I'm slacking off.

I'll be putting in a Partylite order this week - if anyone wants anything, let me know.

And hopefully, [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills' car will be ready tomorrow. Please. Goddess. Let it be ready. I need to get my little Petite (yes, [livejournal.com profile] mizkit, she's decided she has the soul of a Mustang, and it's the only name she answers to now) back. The Kia gets me around, but she's not mine.

Don't forget two more things:

1) We're still accepting proposals for the new Guide to Writing Fantasy: Magic. Email me at vg-ford@yahoo.com up until 3/31/07.

2) I'm still accepting name proposals for the desktop (male) and the new laptop (female). Winning namers get a copy of NYFH, signed!!

Back to writing now.
My bad. I forgot to post this yesterday before I went to bed.

Word Counts for Belladonna Dreams

Goal for the day: 750
Actual words written:
1078

Starting line: The last one had almost accepted him.

Ending line: “Shut up!” I said, flushing.

Darling: “If I could, I would, darling,” he said, drawing out the last word sarcastically. “But since I’m not a Daywalker, I’m tied to this place until I can get a new body. So if you want the boy, and you want to be able to actually consummate the relationship WITHOUT him dying first, I suggest you find me another subject.”

Edward's getting quite snarky, and there's dissention in the ranks of evil. I love it! And I've come up with the idea for the sequel (well, the premise, anyways), and it involves my world's version of TAPS, so I'm hoping I might be able to maybe observe them on a case or two. Hey, I can ask, right? Hopefully, by the time I do, I'll have at least an agent for Dreams, if not a contract for the series, so that would lend a bit of clout to the request. :)

Today, we're going to see either TMNT or The Last Mimzy, then going to check out the new apartment, and then I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] beard5's to get a table for my new office/sewing room. So words will have to wait until tonight, after 8. But I will do words! I will!
The old, animated classics. I just finished watching "Robin Hood" - easily one of my favorites. I needed to see it. Now I want to watch "Aristocats," "Sleeping Beauty," "Mary Poppins," "Pete's Dragon" and "Peter Pan." Not necessarily in that order. :p

Instead, I'm listening to Disney Magic on Live365, and working on the book. Yup, I'm writing paranormal romance to classic Disney music.

Is that more warped than doing horror to Christmas carols?

I got words today!!!

Yay!!!

Metrics for Belladonna Dreams

Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 1768

Starting line: Especially considering who had set them.

Ending line: “It’s my diary,” she’d said. “It might help you understand a bit more about what’s going on in the house.”

Darling: Her hair was scraggly, and coated with the grease of ages. Wings grew out her back, feathers black as midnight and dulled with the residual blood of her victims. Her body was covered with down, matted and soiled, and her legs were those of a great bird of prey. In one hand, she held a horn filled with something noxious; in the other, a knotted whip of briars.

It feels really good to be writing again. So, in honor of writing, here are my goals for the week:

- 750 words on Dreams a day.
- 2 pages of worldbuilding on SB every other day day
- 1 page of script for Wings every other day
- 10 pages of editing on Seasons a day

I know, I know, it's a lot. But I want to keep working on them all. So I figure I'll work on Seasons at work (got my printout and my red pen there), as well as alternate SB and Wings. We'll see how I'm doing at the end of the week.

I've got more editing to do too, and a crit that I owe. So my week will be full.

Saw Ghost Rider today. No spoilers, but damn, it gave me some ideas for Nikki. Too bad they're trademarked. :p

Sleep now.

I had a blast today with Donna.

Went and saw Monster House and POTC: Dead Man's Chest. Then came home and The Mummy was on TBS! One of my ALL-TIME fav movies.

Monster House was cool, but DAMN! Not a kid's movie. I don't care that the rating was PG - it wasn't a kid's movie.

POTC rocked, of course. Love Johnny Depp as Cap'n Jack. And I thought Davy Jones rocked, although Donna thought his voice was a bit whiney. And no, I don't think it was a cliffhanger - more of a "Really? We can do that?" And no spoilers. :)

I think I might want to see Invincible. Odd, I don't like football, but I'm starting to like football movies (love The Replacements). Then again, Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorite actors too. We'll see.

Tonight and tomorrow are laundry and computer. Tonight is the final push on editing TOD. Tomorrow is all about Wings character development and Seasons outline.
