(plotbunny) Random

I need an underground city.

And dinosaurs.

Eventually.

(writing) Another short story plotbunny

I need a plotbunny icon. I really do.

But that's neither here nor there.

I went outside on lunch today, and because it's such an absolutely beautiful sunny, warm, slightly windy day, I started writing a ghost story.

The tentative title of the story is "Party Favor." It's a takeoff (kind of) of the ghostly hitchhiker urban myth - I'm using the version about the girl walking along the road who is picked up by two young men on the way to the dance. Except that these two young men aren't going to your normal kind of dance, and the ghostly girl they pick up isn't your normal ghost.

It should be fun. I'm enjoying it. When it's done, I'll decide what I want to do with it.

(seasons) Metrics for 5/11/08

start: 58592
end: 60399
added: +1804

starting line:
Once his hands were clean, Tony went back to Alex’s bedside and put his fingers to either side of the comatose Mage’s head.

ending line:
Andreas’ skin had started to sink in on itself as Power and blood flowed from him; his heart still beat, and would until Tony ended the draining spell.

darling:
He stopped in his room and pulled a small, flat box out from under his bed. Opening it, he smiled as he pulled the limp piece of flesh from its bed of fabric, the edges sticky against his fingertips. Tony pulled out a small pocket knife and cut a slit in the flesh of his arm, squeezing the cut to pull some blood out. He smeared the blood on the edges of the mask, then carefully fit the face over his own. It had taken him nearly two hours to pull the face off the skull of the owner of the house, but it was worth it to give him a new identity. A few whispered words, and the face meshed with his own. Tony blinked, then smiled and went out to get his car.

***

Epiphany! And now I need to rework my outline in the next few days. But I think it works better. Seriously.

And I had a plotbunny hatch yesterday. >.< No more, please!!!

To-Do List for 7/9/07

At work, and it's finally slow enough to pull out the clipboard, the printed sheets and the outlines, and do some work.

So here's the list for tonight:

- 5 written pages on Seasons
- 5 written pages on Sacrifice
- write up my crit for DII on the clipboard
- write letters to my grandfather and my nana

- write up really cool idea for my next series

I'm sure there's more to do, but I can't think of anything more right now, and this should keep me busy for a while.

Edit 1 - 11 pm:
Go a few things done. I'm going to wait until I get home to post my DII crit - gotta check some names, etc, on the story. Wow, crits are HARD!

Now back to Seasons - I've got one page written so far. Hoping for more before I leave. One more hour!

Sometimes my muse goes into overdrive...

So I'm thinking the Muse had one too many cups of Christmas cheer, between the family party on Saturday and the Christmas Eve buffet on Sunday night. *sigh* On the way home, he starts to whisper to me, and well, it went from there...

Goddess help me, we've got a hook even! And plot! And a title! )

Now that I've got two pages of notes, I'm hoping the Muse will remember that we have a deadline??? Back to Seasons. *makes a vodka martini and coaxes the Cat along*
