Just not the kind I thought I would have.

I don't have a word count tonight - because I spent the night figuring out what kind of freaking story I was writing. Turns out I was falling into the "cast of thousands" trap - and it was writing me into a corner.

So I stopped, and with the help of [livejournal.com profile] mooseythehut, [livejournal.com profile] barlidoc and [livejournal.com profile] jacob_day, I managed to figure out not only where this book is going, but where the 3rd book is going as well. I know how the story ends. Yay!

Unfortunately, I'm going to lose some of what I wrote. I'm not sure how much yet. I have to finish the plot summary and do at least a bare bones outline (although I might just try to go from the summary). I'm losing at least one major character. And with this delay, I'm probably not going to make the end of NaNo. Oh well - I have more at stake with this novel than just making it to 50k by November 30th. Although it would be nice, and I'm still going to push for it.

We'll see. I'm exhausted now, but glad to be over this hurdle. I was wondering why it was like pulling teeth on this book. Now I know why.

More tomorrow, after I shop and make deviled eggs and get some dry erase markers to use on my new white board.
