Yesterday, I was not on the computer much. Hubby and I went with friends to my parents’ lake and spent the day eating good food, enjoying good company, and soaking in perfect lake water.
It was AWESOME. Exactly what I needed. And what hubby needed too.
Before that, my friends Carolyn and Beard and I successfully hunted the wild donut (they did – I hunted GF whoopie pies instead) for breakfast at the farmer’s market, then got a bunch of stuff for the week: kale, broccoli rabe, leaf lard (which is rendered from the fat around the organs of the pig, I learned), leeks, onions, a bottle of wine, garlic, pork ribs and lettuce. OMG, so much good food! I love that the farmer’s market is open again, and I can’t wait to see what our farm shares have!
And then we swam. And we ate (we really suck at famine in my circle of friends). And then we went back to Mark and Jenn’s and made MORE food, drank good wine/beer and played Apples to Apples.
We got home around 11:30, and I settled in to write my words for the day. And then, around 2:30 am, I went to bed.
I need to remember to have more days like that. It really was great.
Today is a cooking/laundry/errands day. I want to make cookies or something for the week, to keep my sugar cravings in check. I need to prep food for the week, and make my meal plan. And I have to go get cat food, or we’re all going to die.
I hope you guys had a good Saturday, and your Sunday is a restful one!
