I can't say much--I've forsaken writing for months for City of Heroes.
It makes me happy right now. I believe in doing things that make me happy. MMOs are transient (your accomplishment will have no form in many years, when the MMO eventually get deconstructed), but I suppose when I have more level 50 CoH characters than I have novels written, I'll feel imbalanced in that respect. Right now, I'm not even close (2 50s and 11 or 12 novels?). And I suspect a story will come along that I want to write long before that. A story I want (some people would say "need") to write more than I want to play the game.
I'm not telling you to write or telling you to play. But I don't think it's pathetic at all, either way. :)
