Yup, that's me, never happy. :)

I've added some cool links at the side. If you have one you'd like me to add (hint, hint: this is for all my writer/artist friends with websites!), email me at vgford @ gmail dot com and let me know.

I'm also thinking of changing my color scheme again...hmm, might be a poll...

Lucked out today - got a 2006 copy of Jeff Herman's Guide, after the girl at the Info Desk told me that A) they didn't have the 2005 guide, B) the 2006 wouldn't be out until October and C) the 2005 guide was out of print.

Well, I just asked if she could show me where the writing section was (because I couldn't find it) and guess what I found on the shelf! Guess they'd better get their systems updated.... :p

So that's for later. I'm working on my own personal deadline, so time to get writing.

Goal tonight: 1k

BTW - LOOOOVE this new icon!

Sometimes I wonder how I've managed to live this long with this crappy an immune system.

Okay, whining done. :)

Seriously, I have now been sick for two days. Just called to cancel my Remicade appointment that would have started in *checks clock* 2 minutes. Switched it to Monday. Hope we're not working OT on Monday. :)

No more technicolor yawning today. The head is not pounding anymore (except when I sneeze), and the saltines are staying down. This is a GOOD thing.

So now I can write a bit.

Updates later.

Okay, so I got two new icons, and I've fallen in love with the one that's currently my default. Isn't it pretty? Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] amethystia!

Today is an outline writing day. I went to the police station - the police report will be ready to be picked up Tuesday. I went to the gym (see the other journal for that). And I picked up the prescriptions for [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills. Now, I'm planting my butt in my chair and cranking out the outline for Dreams.

More updates later.

Well, four chapters down and edited. Had to just update that.

Bed now.

P.S. Yes, yet another icon! :p
For the rest of the weekend, thanks to the blizzard currently approaching, I'm at the parents' house. The good news is that they got a new computer, so I can actually chat online and write.

The bad news is that I have no access to Trillian, AIM, Skype or Yahoo Messanger. At all. So if you want to talk to me, either call the cell or come on into FM chat. I'll probably be there most of tonight and all of tomorrow, because there ain't gonna be nothing else to do but watch it snow. And snow. And snow.

*sigh* At least I'll get some exercise shoveling snow off their walk. Which goes pretty much straight up. And they have a plow guy, so I don't need to worry about the driveway - yay!

First of all, I've got a new look on the journal. What do you think?

Second of all, I've been offered a really neat opportunity. In the next few weeks, a musician friend of mine will be finishing bringing his professional studio back up on line. And he wants to get into....

Podcasting.

Yup, Val will have a professionally produced podcast in a few weeks. (Stop gnashing your teeth at me, [livejournal.com profile] teemonster. You didn't really believe I was going to wrap my brain around that technological stuff, did you?) Which begs the question:

What should I do my podcast on? Thus the poll....

[Poll #670236]

And good news on the weight: didn't lose any more, but didn't gain any either! So net loss on the year is still 3 lbs.

Off to work on stuff. Writing stuff. Yeah, that stuff.
Bleah. I think I'm going to have to break down and go to the damn doctors, so I can finally kick this obnoxious...whatever it is. I'm hot and cold today, probably running a fever, and hoping to get to work.

So what am I doing? Writing, of course. :p

Here's the updated year-to-date word count:
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
13,337 / 1,000,000
(1.3%)

I'm chugging along - got the first real character done on Broken Wings the other day. Didn't write yesterday - pulled a 12-hour shift and then came home and slept because I felt awful.

Still feel awful. But I hate missing work.

At least I have sick days...and I have until 3:30 to decide if I'm coming in or not.

*sigh* We'll see in an hour or so...

Is a very, very busy practice.

And yet, I still love it. Even when it sucks my life away. Go figure.

Well, that and the cold. i'm in the grip of the killer cold from hell, and it's been royally kicking my ass, so I haven't updated anything in a while.

I'm behind on my word counts (go figure), my house is a mess (although my living room is now clean) and we're out of kitten wet food (the horrors! have to give them tuna tonight). Other than that (and the fact that my brain is leaking out of my nose in icky green blobs), I'm doing well. Life is good.

Almost.

I have Pennsic off. Unfortunately, as of right now...hubby does not. *sob*

We'll see.

Today is editing. Lots and lots of editing.

I should finish getting ready to go to my Grandmother's birthday party. Instead, I'm going to keep working on the edits I have for the vampire novel I'm editing. No, I haven't mentioned very much on it. Yes, I'm enjoying it. :p

I need more time. Like, oh, 8 more hours a day to write/edit.

Bleah.

Well, the printer finally died. Not sure why (age, perhaps) but dead, nonetheless. Or at least, not printing, despite a cleaning and brand-new cartridges.

On the plus side, I was browsing walmart.com (being the poor person I am) and found a lovely little HP All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Copier for $49.88!!!! I had to call and make sure it wasn't a misprint. It wasn't, and it's very cute as it sits next to my computer.

And it's FAST!!!! So now I have a new toy to play with. :p

Dreams is up to chapter 15. I have been told on pain of death that I am not allowed to do anything except work on Dreams. I think it was because of the cliffhanger ending to 14. *smirk*

I really want to work on Dreams, but I've got this little short story that's bugging me too. I started it today, and well, I'm calling it "Sweet Dreams" for right now.

I think I could really get into this...ah, "naughty" writing. If I think it's any good, I'll post the rough here. Behind a discreet cut, of course, and with an "HR-inappropriate" warning.

But now I gotta do another chapter or two of Dreams. Before a certain Alpha reader reaches through the computer from Texas and strangles me....

Well, this is embarrassing. I changed my password on my [livejournal.com profile] captain_hobbes account, and promptly forgot it. No problems - they can email it to me!

Except that I can't get into the email account either.

*headdesk*

So, needless to say, since I'm at an impasse, I'm going to let my [livejournal.com profile] captain_hobbes account die. If you know anyone who's on that account who isn't on this one, please pass this information along to them.

I'm braindead! I'm working 50+ hours this week - forgive me! :p

And trying to write at the same time...

Well, I am now on nights. I have discovered 2 things about the night shift at my work:

1. People panic at 10 pm and decide they need to call. I never realized I could have calls WAITING at 10:30 at night to talk about their benefits! O_o

2. It's much easier to write at night. Even when all you are doing is silliness - character sketching.

I have a wonderful set of books called Heroes Now! and Heroes of Tomorrow - they are basically collections of random tables to do up a background for a roleplaying character. I use them, however, to make up characters for fun - some of them even get beyond their character life stories into real characters! It gives me a creative outlet and is fun.

I think I'm going to make a bar and put these particular characters in it. I haven't decided yet.

Now to write some more on Belladonna so I'm not totally behind by this weekend.
