So, I finally figured out what my New Year's goals are going to be this year. And since I loved [livejournal.com profile] magicnoire's setup, I'm going to cheerfully appropriate it for my list. (Thanks, hon!)

Anyways, I'll post the health goals in a different post, but here are my personal and writing goals for 2007.

Personal:

Goal the First: Remember that I am a Girl.

Yes, this is actually a goal. I have been very much a tomboy most of my life, to the point of the fact that I would refuse to wear: lace, pink, pale green or blue, anything with flowers on it and anything that had a skirt or a dress. My morning routine is 15 minutes, from waking up to showering to walking out the door. And you know what? I'm tired of it.

So in 2007, I am going to remember that I am a girl, and that it's fun to be a girl. Hubby got me some new perfume and new nailpolish for Christmas, and I am going to use it. I'm going to embrace my girlness. I can't dye my hair funky colors anymore (bleah on corporate workplaces) but I can paint my nails whatever color I want. I might even get a professional manicure - something I've never done. I'm definitely going to get my hair professionally dyed - a beautiful red, I think. We'll see.

Goal the Second: Get promoted.
I'm tired of being on the phones. I have several opportunities to get off the phones, and I'm going to see what I can do to capitalize on them. I really think I want to move to our Operations team, and I'm going to concentrate on that.

Goal the Third: Get my house organized.
I am so tired of being a mess. It ends this year. Seriously.

I'm going to concentrate on one room a month. Because January is traditionally a busy month, I'm going to start small, with my bathroom. Then, in order:

February: my kitchen
March: my living room
April: my bedroom
May: my office
June: the closets

I'll keep you all updated on that progress.

Writing:

Goal the First: Finish Belladonna Dreams

This includes getting it critted, getting it revised, and getting it sent out. I've been sitting on this book way too long.

Goal the Second: Revise and Submit Dark Moon Seasons
I want this book in Gwen's hands by May 1.

Goal the Third: Write the outline and rough draft for Last Rites
The deadline on this project is August 1 for the rough draft.

Goal the Fourth: Write the outlines for The Edgewood Trilogy
It's time for me to stop putting Shanna off. Seriously. I want the first book to be my Nano. Which leads us to...

Goal the Fifth: Write Descent into Darkness for Nano.
I'm going to do official Nano this November. Period, end of discussion.

That's it for right now. I need to promote more, and I'd love to take a class or two - but that's a lot right now up there, so I'll revisit this list in 6 months and see what I've accomplished.

Haha! Glad my setup was of some use to you. :)

Those look like great goals. I love painting my nails all sorts of crazy colors but I haven't been able to since I graduated from college. Laboratory work is not friendly to pretty metallic nail polish. Constantly chipping or the chemicals wipe it off.

I suppose though I could start painting my toenails, but it's no fun when you can't show them off and I definitely can't wear open-toed shoes to work. (That chemical hazard always looms...)

I'm tempted to make writing goals, but I find that I get too frustrated when they're not met the way I want them to be met...so I think I'll work around it by saying "Okay, NOW I work on [enter title here]...good, that's done...NOW I work on [enter 2nd title here]...and so on. I find that this worked well with Love Like Blood this year! :p

Good luck, hope you meet as many goals as you can! :D
