So today we hashed out a bunch of stuff for the next book in the "Fantasy Writers" series. Did I mention that I'm editing another book? :) Here's the call we put out:

We have a list of chapters for "Fantasy Writing: The Business Side of Writing" and would like to put out an open call for authors. The submissions period is from now until March 16.

There will be two parts to the open call: Primary authors and back-up authors.

Primary authors will be those who have the time to commit fully to the project. (Fully includes from writing to promotion, to beyond -- whatever it takes to get the book out there.)

Back-up authors will be those who cannot say for certain they will have the time to commit, but would be willing to do so if called upon. (If called upon, they need to commit fully to the project, as would be expected of a primary author.)

For each author who responds to the open call, we would like them to submit a short bio covering the following points:

- Publication credits (excluding self-publishing)
- Experience / expertise in the chapter area
- Willingness to commit to the entire project (from writing to promotion and further)
- For back-up authors, they need to be prepared to work quickly and under a very tight deadline

If responding authors do not see a chapter they would like to write, they are welcome to suggest alternatives.

However, responding authors should not expect to immediately hear from us as the open call will run until mid-March.

Should responding authors not hear anything by mid-April, they should assume they will not be writing for THIS volume.

Please send your submission to sidekick_submissions@yahoogroups.com. If you have been approached to do a chapter, please send your confirmation to the same email address.

The following is a partial list of chapters:
