I'm on Chapter 30 of 34. Although I think there needs to be more at the end, but we'll see when I get there.

Metrics for tonight

Goal for the day: 750
Actual words written:
2704

Starting line: James showed us to a bedroom with a pair of twin beds in it; Alis fell asleep almost immediately, but I couldn’t get my mind to slow down enough to sleep.

Ending line: Rose continued to sing, and I listened, cradling my empty tea mug in my hands as the sun climbed over the horizon.

Darling: My tea had long since gone cold, and the memory of the herbs danced in the liquid on my tongue as I drank.

To bed now, so the brat cat stops howling.

I'm up. I've eaten. I have 2 1/2 bottles of Pepsi in the fridge.

It's time to finish this thing. Updates as I go along.

Starting count for today is 77680.

ETA 1: As of 4:38 pm EST, I'm on Chapter 32 and at 81286. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ammepyre and [livejournal.com profile] irysangel, who have been warring with me in FM, I might actually finish this damn book today. Taking a VERY brief break, and then it's back to tormenting Sapph writing the climax.

Here is the final metrics post.

Goal for the day: 750

Starting line: “There,” she said finally, lowering her hands and letting her spell dissipate. “That should give us enough time to leave.”

Ending line: And then I slept.

Darling: The carpet beneath me was a dark wine color, the color of pooling blood and spilled dreams. We had joked about the carpet, David and I. Had considered putting a similar color in our house. That was before we’d known how they’d gotten that color – how many people had choked out their last breath to make it so vivid. How many final moments were woven into the threads.

If Sapph ever speaks to me again, it will be a miracle. Seriously. [livejournal.com profile] adr_forte and [livejournal.com profile] barlidoc told me I made it too easy on her in the first book. So I fixed it.

Boy, oh boy. She's...well, ladies, I hope she never meets you in a dark alley. :-P

I'm sending this out today to my beta readers. Take your red pens to it.

Now I'm wiped. This writing stuff is hard work!
