84362 words, and I'm done!

Here is the final metrics post.

Goal for the day: 750
Actual words written:
6682

Starting line: “There,” she said finally, lowering her hands and letting her spell dissipate. “That should give us enough time to leave.”

Ending line: And then I slept.

Darling: The carpet beneath me was a dark wine color, the color of pooling blood and spilled dreams. We had joked about the carpet, David and I. Had considered putting a similar color in our house. That was before we’d known how they’d gotten that color – how many people had choked out their last breath to make it so vivid. How many final moments were woven into the threads.

If Sapph ever speaks to me again, it will be a miracle. Seriously. [livejournal.com profile] adr_forte and [livejournal.com profile] barlidoc told me I made it too easy on her in the first book. So I fixed it.

Boy, oh boy. She's...well, ladies, I hope she never meets you in a dark alley. :-P

I'm sending this out today to my beta readers. Take your red pens to it.

Now I'm wiped. This writing stuff is hard work!

It's done! It's done!

*Val dances around madly, cackling in glee*

Here are the metrics:

Word Goal for the day: 1000 - made 4716

Starting line: “Hey, Nikki, can you get me the new jar of cinnamon?” Sarah asked from the stove, where she was whisking together an egg mixture for French toast. “I’m out here.”

Ending line: They went inside, and once the door closed, a single strand of grey mist separated itself from the rest and vanished.

Darling: Lots, but they're all spoilery.

Deaths: Oh yes. LOTS.

Good Things: THE END!!!

Bad Things: Oh, where to begin?

So I came up about 5k shorter than I thought I would, but I know there are scenes I need to put in. Right now, I have sent it off to [livejournal.com profile] snitchcat and I'm going to send it to my editor to check it over.

But it's done, it's done!!!

AND, I have a cool blurb lined up! I am SOOOOO excited about that. Seriously.

More later.

Right now, cyber-bubbly for everyone!
