No editing today, but even though I worked until 7 pm (suck, suck, suck), I got caught up on my 2yn assignment and started Chapter 1 of Seasons. This beginning is much stronger - it's more evocative, I think, and, well, darn it - I like it. :)

Darling:
The thunder grumbling overhead was echoed by snaps and crashes from below as the remains of the building continued to settle into its grave. Emergency workers of every stripe swarmed it like flies on a corpse, looking for the smallest flicker of life.
