So, I went to the doctor's yesterday, and we have a new treatment plan. She did a bunch of blood work, and agreed with me that we don't want to try any more birth control at this point, because of the mood issues.
I'm going on Metformin, which controls blood insulin levels. My doctor is concerned that my insulin levels might be high, which could be affecting all sorts of things. So now, in addition to watching out for HFCS and all the stuff I need to avoid with the Crohns disease, I have to watch carbs and sugar levels as well. And I'm rattling when I walk, I swear. Between the two new pills for Metformin, the new vitamins (we're looking into deficiencies there as well) and all my other pills, I'm up to like 27 a day. But it's better than bleeding, right?
This morning, I was up at a normal time (7 am - without an alarm!) and got stuff done - breakfast, my FAFSA for school, registered my car, dropped stuff off at the library and then into work. I'm going to have to learn a new way of eating - I don't eat on much of a schedule and yeah, that's not going to work anymore. I'm foreseeing some blood sugar crashes in the next few weeks while I figure it out - luckily, my cubemate has dark Belgian chocolate that he's pledged to help me work it out. :D I have the best cubemates.
So we'll see. I'll keep you guys all updated - thanks so much for all your good wishes!
