Bad me.
Metrics from the last three days for Blood Sacrifice. *sigh*
Metrics for 4/15/07
Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 1160
Starting line: The digital clock read “11:48” in sickly green numbers.
Ending line: Shanna turned back to the fire pit and took a deep breath. A mistake, as the carrion stench filled her lungs and mouth, a taste of overdone, rotten meat making her regret lunch. And breakfast, for that matter.
Darling: The air above the altar thickened, a crimson cloud that reached into the ruins of the grad student’s stomach with eager fingers of mist, drawing the precious mix of blood and Power into the Spirit.
Inspiration du jour: The Reaping and House on Haunted Hill
Metrics for 4/16/07
Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 821
Starting line: Especially since it was her turn to get down in that pit.
Ending line: Justin nodded. “Got back last night.”
Darling: He was still warm, thanks to the coals still growling and snapping at her feet. The wood he’d been burned on was green, full of sap and spirit, which was how they had anything left at all.
Inspiration du jour: The Clancy Brothers
Metrics for 4/17/07
Word Goal for the day: 750 - made 685
Starting line: “Good.” Rick Jackson was the closest thing to a psychic bloodhound she’d ever met.
Ending line: Two of his warlocks who had been lounging at other tables followed him, scenting a hunt.
Darling: For just a moment, he felt naked, bare, as if those amber eyes had opened his soul and seen everything he had ever done there, laid out for all to peruse.

You said that one of your inspirations of the day was The Reaping. Did you like it? The critics, of course, hate it, but I've been considering going to see it any way.
