Tommy Makem passes of cancer at age 74.

Wow. I've been listening to Tommy Makem sing since I can remember hearing music. My parents took us to see him and the Clancy Brothers several times. I knew his sons briefly in high school.

I'm stunned. I hate growing older - everyone cool is passing away.

Slainte, Tommy. Thanks for the music.

I'm sorry I didn't send something out the moment I heard. I've been kind of in a death-related daze given all the deaths and maimings that I've been seeing in places I recognize, especially in places related to the arts. It's been a really shitty summer. I haven't listened to him in far too long, really.
