RIP, Robert Jordan.

I'd post the link, but the site appears to be down. Probably because all the fans are overloading it. There's a thread on Absolute Write about it.

I couldn't get into Wheel of Time, but he was one of the greats of the genre world.

Bah.

Very sad. I loved his first three books. My husband was really into this series. I know that he was trying really hard to finish his next book. If anything he opened up a whole world to me. We'll miss him.

Unfortunately, I never really got into WoT - but I admired what he did for the genre and the opportunities it gave to people like me. He will be missed.

According to CNN this is just a rumor, and I can find nothing abotu it anywhere else and all sites that have anything to do with him are down. I wouldn't cry yet.

His editor blogged about it: http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/009381.html#009381

His wikipedia article has also been updated with his death.

This is such as depressing way for the week to start. I'm sad for his family in a general sort of way, I hadn't ever met him, so mostly I'm bummed that I'm not going to get to see how the story ends. (Unless maybe he left notes, and someone he trusted with the story in case he didn't get to finish it. I hope so.)

Supposedly, once he was diagnosed, he outlined the rest of the series and gave it to his editor, I believe.

This is why I'm getting paranoid about outlining everything. If I go, there will be enough notes to finish my series!!!!
