Yup. Ekk and Elinore said they heard flocks of gulls heading south today. Gulls. This does not bode well for the winter facing us. It takes an awful lot to make a gull leave a food source.

Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to it. OTOH, I'm in better shape this year, I have Yaktrax for my shoes and, well, what else can we do? Sadly, work won't send me to a warmer clime for the winter. :P

Just letting you know. :-( For myself, I'm all set. Getting more canned than frozen veggies. In a month I'm going to be hitting myself over the head with my annual question... I left Israel..WHY???

If I'm honest, though, where I lived in Ra'anana, the winters were abysmal. I don't know about now, but back then, other than Jerusalem, most homes did NOT have central heating. The temp didn't drop below 40F, but add the damp into that and... you have mold growing on the bathroom tiles. :-(

well, the temps won't be cold, but it means a lot more snow as a result.

And the inevitable ice storms that accompany that type of winter. Snow is okay. We need the snow for the spring planting. Freezing rain is like ... my ex.... nothing but destruction and misery.
