The camping was good, once we got set up (and no, I'm not going into that) - we camped with Eadys and Eadric across from us, and
I've discovered that I don't really like going out and partying at Pennsic anymore. I must be getting old and stodgey. :p Seriously, though, I like hanging out in camp, sipping mead and listening to the stories.
Lots of service this week - I did some heralding in the Lady of the Rose tourney, and was supposed to do the Knowne World Tourney, but the Allied Champions Battle ran too late, so we weren't needed. Battles running late was a theme the entire weekend.
Master Magnus is now the Baronial Champion of the ENTIRE KNOWNE WORLD! Go Magnus!
I fenced! Go me! Didn't get my schlager qual (although a certain other member of our group did - congrats!!! Won't spoil it before you annouce it), but I fenced in the East Kingdom Tourney on Tuesday (and got my ass handed to me) and the Aethlmarc Novices Tourney on Thursday (did much better - came in 3rd in my division!), so I'm happy. I also got to play schlager a bit with
I bought stuff too - lots of stuff. Pearls for a snood and a dress, a wonderful tee-shirt that says "The beatings will continue until morale improves" in Latin, a book on Bess Ralegh (wife of Sir Walter Ralegh), plague rats (for the two boys who watched the kittens for us), a steel gorget for schlager and other stuff that I'll remember when I pull it out. *grin* Oh, and I have the most wonderful idea for a dress! I can't wait to pattern it out.
I just have to get the white and green linen to do it with. *grin*
Oh! And everyone, you need to ask Baronessa Maria about our eviction. *BIG GRIN*
Needless to say, the East won the War this year. It was fun, and I'm looking forward to next year already.
We did the drive home the I-80 way - drove straight through the night and arrived here at approximately 6 am this morning. That was rough, but now we know we can do it. And the kittens were ecstatic to see us.
Now comes the 51-week town run, and then we can do it all over again!!!
