I bring you one of the best rants I have read in a long time. Tamara Siler Jones is a class act, and she's right on target here.

Nope, I don't know what sparked this rant. Doesn't really matter. What does matter is that she's right.

Telling people that they'll never be published and that they write like shit is WRONG. I hate it when I hear people doing that.

I've written one book, and got it published. I'm NOT the typical story either, and while I haven't had Tam's success (nor am I that good a writer), I'm doing pretty well. I haven't done any market research. I haven't submitted it anywhere else. But you know what? I wrote it and sold it, and I get royalty checks.

So don't EVER give up. And if anyone tells you that you'll never be published, spit in their eye and keep right on writing.

It's the only way to prove them wrong.

Whoa, thanks for sharing this. Yes, this business is tough. Yes, not everyone will get a six figure book deal. Yes, this is not for the faint of heart. But still who has the right to tell others not to follow their dream? Like I used to tell my first graders, don't let anyone tell you can't do something. Si, se puede!
