Well, I've just finished reading Stephen King's "On Writing." I read his "Danse Macabre" years ago, and enjoyed it, so I knew I'd like "On Writing." Now that I've finished it, all I have to say is "Wow."

King knows his stuff. He's succinct, honest and I recognized the truth in a lot of what he was saying. I have a feeling this is a book that I'll be rereading a lot in the coming years.

What I really liked was how he pulled no punches. He said, quite simply, "Just write, dammit. Don't make excuses."* I really like that, because he's right.

And he likes "Harry Potter!" -insert fangirl squee here-

So, it's back to the grindstone. Because, dammit, I have stories to write.

*Yes, this is a paraphrase of pretty much the entire book. I'm too lazy to go and look up the actual quote I was thinking of.

You're right. That's a great book.

And, it really boils down to the fact that it's all about writing, writing, and more writing, doesn't it?

Exactly! He just basically comes out and says everything I've been feeling for a while.

I loved it. I will reread it for years.
