Black Friday

The Good: New Christmas CDs! Five, to be exact: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Toby Keith, Martina McBride and a Christmas Compilation. Good haul!

The Bad: I have to work tonight. :(

The Ugly: I got up at 7:30 am (after staying up with caitlindancer until 1 a.m. watching Law and Order: SVU) and drove to Worcester (2 hrs away) - only to discover that they'd switched my Remicade appointment to NEXT Friday. Bah. Ugh. Grrr.

Oh, well. Retail therapy accomplished, and now I'm going to head into our cafeteria, get a large chai tea and sit and write for 2 hours. I feel that would be a respectible use of my time.

You never stop learning.

Seriously. I'd forgotten how much I love writing longhand - for plotting, it's my preferred format. So today, after starting and deleting four files (yep, it takes me a while), I abandoned Puck and grabbed a notebook. Now, I have the bones of the plot summary for Snow and nearly a page and a half of notes. In about 45 minutes. And, well, it feels really good.

I'll keep writing today during the slow times, I think - although I have an afghan to work on as well. I'm looking forward to a nice, quiet, slow night.
