Writing this today, because I'm hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow. :)

This year, I am thankful for...

1. My wonderful, understanding, handsome hubby [livejournal.com profile] argus7hills. Thank you so much for another great year and I can't wait for Monday, when I go to days!!!

2. The fact that I will have all my family with me tomorrow, and that we still all like each other enough to all be looking forward to Thanksgiving!

3. The fact that I have a warm house and enough money to not have to worry where the next meal or rent check is coming from. Been there, done that, NEVER going back if I can help it.

4. Most importantly, that I and those important to me are healthy and, for the most part, happy.

5. For Bear, Sebastian and Tayla, my three adorable monsters kittens.

6. For the fact that I'm still writing, even though I have no chance in Hell of finishing NaNo. Especially since I'm putting the novel on hold to go back to Seasons.

7. And, last but not least, for all my LJ friends and my readers. You guys rock!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! May it be everything you want and nothing you dread.

So, I opened my first imp from BPAL today. I tried "Ode on Melancholy" today.

Ode on Melancholy: Beauty, joy, pleasure and delight: devastated. This is the scent of the hopelessness, torment and despair of love. Lavender and wisteria, heart-wrenching pale rose, desolate white sandalwood and thin, tear-streaked white musk.

I really like this one. It's very pale (can I use that to describe a scent?) and brings to mind a lonely spirit, wandering through rose-strewn corridors, looking for lost love.

It fades after a bit, but I still catch hints of it.

I'm doing it - giving up. I know I can finish novels, but Novembers always suck for me (I'm in Health and Insurance, what can I say?) And I completely didn't prepare this year.

I'm a planner, not a pantser. So Descent is going on the shelf for a bit, and I'm going to tackle a few other projects.

I'm writing tonight, but I'm working on some outlines. I need to outline the short story for December, and I'm FINALLY going to start working on the serial I've promised my Chronicler ([livejournal.com profile] mossbeloved, please don't tell him I haven't started. Please. I'm begging you. *grin*) And this weekend, I'm going to Kinko's and printing out Dreams so I can start the revision of that. I have to work on Seasons as well the next few months.

So here's my goal for the remainder of November:

1. Outline unnamed Christmas story and start writing.
2. Outline The Birka Chronicles (yes, the title sucks, I know. I'm open to suggestions) and start it.
3. Print Dreams and do the edit outline without the Ellen POV and with only one ghost from the Elephant House.
4. Write 4 chapters of Seasons

And, because I can, a Poll!

[Poll #1092987]
