It's days like today that I realize that writing is a job. It's not something I do just because I like it a bit, or it's a way to pass the time. If that were the case, I'd be curled up in bed, letting the aspirin work on my sinus headache. Instead, I'm parked in front of my computer, doggedly trying to get the outline for Treaty done. I really, really want to get started on this, but I'm forcing myself to finish the outline first. I know that's how I work best.

I was daydreaming a bit at work today (I know, bad, but I was familiar with the stuff we were going over) and I came up with a modified character sketch sheet for my vampire novel. I think that might be the novel I'm doing for NaNo, since it would be cheating a bit to use Circle for that.

BTW, can anyone tell me how to do progress bars here in LJ? I'm curious.

i'm not sure about the ones from FM, but http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/ has worked well for me and others. Just type in the info, select a color, generate a code you can copy and paste onto your journal, and you get something like this:
