Okay, I hope that indicates that there will be spoilers for the new Harry Potter movie, "The Order of the Phoenix." I saw this bright and early this morning, 10 am EST, and overall enjoyed it. It helped that all the screaming children and annoying teenybopper fangirls were apparently in the 9:30 am showing - we had about 20 people in the whole theater. It was awesome.

The bright spots, as always, were the actors themselves, although the nightmares were totally cool as well (the spectral horses that pull the carriages). Luna Lovegood made the movie for me - especially right at the end, when she tells Harry, "My mum always said that the things we lose come back to us in the end. Just not always the way we expect them to." She was winsomely daffy, and perfect for the role.

All-time favorite character in this movie, though, hands-down, was Bellatrix LeStrange, aka Helena Bonham Carter. OMG, I cannot WAIT until Half-Blood Prince comes out, because she will have a much bigger part!!! The woman is amazing, and she's PERFECT for the role.

I did have some beefs, after all - they cut out the ENTIRE subplot with Harry being angry at Sirius, and they never even mention the Christmas present he never opens. HELLO!!! That could have changed EVERYTHING!!!! I really, really think that should have been in there. I mean, the final fight with Voldemort was cool, but not the way I thought it would be. And I dunno, the whole encounter in the Ministry of Magic, up until Voldemort showed up, was kind of...not as scary as it should be.

Dolores Umbridge was awesome in her roll - and I loved the dragon that the Weasley twins set on her when they left. But that was another thing - it's never mentioned that they were actually expelled.

I dunno. On the whole, I liked it, and I'm going to be listening to Half-Blood Prince on my way up to GNEW this weekend, if I can find my CDs. Bear in mind, too, that this is pretty much my least-favorite of all the books, because I adored Sirius. He was my favorite, and I cried buckets when Rowlings killed him.

That being said, I will own this movie, and I will be seeing it again with Argus, I'm sure.
