So, I'm looking out for these now (can you tell I'm bored? I just keep posting. But I'm doing training readings and my brain needs a break every so often.), but since I can't justify spending the $216 for a new Neo right now (sigh), I'll probably just bring that old standby to Pennsic (pen and paper) and keep on the lookout for a good used one.

And maybe Santa will bring me a new Neo. Or not. :p

Of course, I'll probably bring the laptop too. Just in case.

I'm so tied to my technology. I think I'd die without my computer fix.

Pathetic, isn't it?

Have you considered looking on ebay for a used NEC mobilepro? I recommend the 790. You can find those cheap, and they usually come installed with a version of Word. I used to save my work on a memory card (they take compact flash cards) and I could work on it almost anywhere. I don't use mine anymore because I bought a laptop, and I'd offer to sell you mine, but oddly, I'm attached to it, and I don't want to give it up, in case I decide I want something to write on that has no web access.

Anyway, they're cheap now because they're obselete. They do more than an alpha, but they have such limited memory that they don't do much more. You can get them onto the web, too, and I have a PCMCIA network wireless card for mine, but the web browsing features are extremely limited.

Hmm, I'll look into those as well. I'm not interested in putting it on the web, but how's the battery life? What kind of batteries does it take?

Thanks for the suggestion! :)
