So, I'm 3/4 of the way through the second disk of Full Metal Alchemist, and I have to say that the last episode I saw absolutely horrified me. It was the episode with the talking chimera and little Nina.

Oh. My. God.

I was sobbing at the end of that. SOBBING. That poor little girl.

I do have to say that I adore Al. Ed, I want to smack upside the head at least once per episode, but Al is adorable and sweet and I just want to hug him and tell him everything is going to be okay.

I'm going to be strong and not watch more until Thursday (I hope), when I plan to bring it over to [livejournal.com profile] beard5's house and make him watch it.

(This is payback for making me watch Invader Zim, [livejournal.com profile] beard5, just in case you were wondering.)

Hee. I love FMA. I like how they change the ending sequence on Nina episode, just to rub a little more salt into the gaping wound the episode left you with.

Oh yeah! I started to watch the next one, and they went right back to it, and I'm like, oh no. I can't watch this now.

I love it when novels/movies/anime don't flinch from pulling a punch. Even as I'm sobbing, "No! I can't believe you did that!!!"

Full Metal Alchemist is one of my favorite series, its right up there with Trigun in the "How much I love the plot" and "How much I love the characters" categories.

Actually, the episode with Nina (which was the first episode I saw of FMA on Adult Swim) is what sold the series to me. Didn't pull the punch, it was horrible as it needed to be. It makes you hate Scar in ways that are truely intense.

Which makes the later episodes with him, when you learn more, even more awesome.

*grin* Besides, if you think that was a awesome shot...just wait till you see what's coming (heh-heh-heh)

Muahahahahahhaahaa much better you than me! Muahahahahahahahaaa.

BTW, I am doing some cooking at Harper's. We're doing Chicken, twice baked potato and green beans almondine on Sunday. You want in?

Also, breakfast options are available :)

Donations appreciated, but not necessary.

Yeah, well, I'm going to make him watch FMA instead.

As far as food goes at Harpers' - let me get back to you. We're camping with [livejournal.com profile] kuzushi, Bil, Steingrim and [livejournal.com profile] suelder, so I have to check with them. But as far as I know, we're doing the "Stonemarche end of the year potluck" Sunday night at our cabin, and the bar is in the cabin below, so you guys are more than welcome to join us for that!

Let me check with the other members of my party.

Okay great if your doing the potluck, I will bring food to it. I will make sure that everything I bring is gluten free.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

Colin and Patty won't be there - I'm not sure who else is gluten-free (I know Cynder and Ravenhair are, but I don't know if they're coming).

Just so you know. :)

Is it Friday yet???

I'm really getting into it. Like I said above, I love it when they don't shy away from doing what needs to be done.

I see you've been sucked into the world of FMA.

That was a definitely rough episode.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

It's research. Really. :p

Yeah, I've been sucked in. But I'm already getting ready to order Princess Tutu as well. I just have to find it. :p

Would I steer you wrong? No. No I wouldn't. I'll steer you down the ravine full of flints and prickers, but not wrong.

In other news, you have to come visit and play Wii with us. Wii boxing is awesome sauce.

In other, other news, can I borrow those DVDs from you sometime. I recommended on the strength of what I've been able to catch on Adult Swim late at night, when I'm up past my bedtime.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

LOL!

I'd love to come down. I'll look at the schedule and see what we can do.

I'd also love to loan these to you, but I'm borrowing them from [livejournal.com profile] saytrs_grove, so I can't lend them out. :(

(OTOH, now I have an idea for a Christmas present for you two.)

I love Invader Zim, I also like FMA - I haven't gotten to see a lot of that one, though. It still sort of ranks below Trigun, Wolf's Rain and a few others on my list to collect, so it'll probably be a while before I own it.

I'm just getting into this, so I'm still finding my way through. Any suggestions for good anime would be appreciated! :)

From: [identity profile] tieshla.livejournal.com

I'd suggest Wolf's Rain, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Scrapped Princess as a few to start on. Depends on what you're in to really.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

Cowboy Bebop is already on my list to watch. I'll check out the others - thanks!

From: [identity profile] bears-place.livejournal.com

If you still want to borrow after FMA, we do have Bebop, Wolf's Rain and Trigun, I also recommend Escaflowne, which we also have.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

Oh yes. I'm looking forward to going through your anime library. :)
