Despite the fact that I pissed hubby off because I didn't realize the end of the driveway wasn't shoveled (sigh - I should have checked, but I didn't even think of it), today was a good day. I got a solid 2630 words done on the outline, and I'm up to Chapter 17 now. Nikki has realized that Justin and Rick lied to her. We've now been introduced to all the major players. Now comes the meat of the story.

I also finally got a mix together that I liked for this novel. Yes, I mix CDs for my writing. Sue me.

Here's the mix for Dark Moon Seasons (it doesn't have a cool name yet. Horseman's mix is called Songs in the Key of H, but I don't have anything inspiring me right now)

Make the Flowers Grow (from Les Miserables)
Lady Marmalade (Labelle)
Eye in the Sky (Alan Parsons Project)
Bed of Roses (Bon Jovi)
Bring Me to Life (Evanescence)
All That Jazz (Catherine Zeta-Jones from Chicago)
The End of the Innocence (Don Henley)
The Warrior (Scandal featuring Patty Smyth)
Tell It to My Heart (Taylor Dayne)
Cell Block Tango (from Chicago)
The Garden of Allah (Don Henley)
Lullaby (Billy Joel)
On My Own (from Les Miserables)
Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi)
Ten Thousand Angels (Mindy McCready)
Hello (Evanescence)

Tomorrow is gym day - I have to get all my stuff together (which involves going out to the van and getting my bag, since hubby is irritated at me and won't bring it in, I'm sure) and make both lunch and breakfast.

See you all later.

Wow! I'm impressed by how musically compatible we are. I'd listen to fully half of this stuff, and what I wouldn't list as on that list is purely because I don't recognize it, not that I dislike it.

Are the Eponine songs for a particular character? I always liked Eponine... :)

Yeah, the Eponine songs are for Nikki. She's very much alone in this book, even though she's not, and those songs really resonated for me.

And I always knew you had great musical taste! Let me know if you'd like copies of any of the songs you haven't heard - I'd be happy to send them to you!

How about Dark Moon Melodies :)

Yep, we all liked Eponine. But she died. All the decent characters in Les Mis die. We're just left with the wussy ones ;)

Hmm, Dark Moon Melodies could work.

And yeah, I agree. I would have much rather have Marius end up with Eponine rather than Cosette, who didn't have a spine.

:D That is a cool list. For me the actuall creation part, I cannot listen to anything. It is the one thing in me that requires my whole self.
but it is a cool list (I have a list for editing)

I listen to the mix through all stages of the process: prewriting, writing, editing.

Thanks!

Wow, we listen to a lot of the same music! Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi is one of my all-time favorite songs. But then I also love Bring Me to Life by Evanesence.

We also have something else in common: the ability to irritate our husbands without even trying! LOL

Great writing progress. Keep it up!
