I love the day before a con. Really. It's so...invigorating, as I run around trying to get everything done that I've forgotten to do before. Add in the cooking I've been doing, and it's just a great cardio workout, really.

/sarcasm

No, seriously, this is when I start getting really excited for the con. I can't wait! I'll get to hang out with a ton of friends, enjoy good food and good booze, AND this year I get to do TWO presentations at Monacan High School! Not to mention the fact that I'm being trusted to moderate the Voices of Tomorrow panel on Saturday (if you can hit this, I would. It's really cool - the students of Monacan talk about their part in shaping the future of fantasy and science fiction). And of course, Livers for Boobies Saturday night!

BUT.

I have a ton of stuff to do today. I've already started, and my list is long:

1. Order Business Cards. Sent this morning before work
2. packing list for RavenCon Although I'm sure I'm forgetting something...
3. Finish stuffing tea bags I've done about 60. That's enough.
4. Do Sears refund Done and wow! So easy!!!
5. create handouts for Monacan
6. register car
7. go get pork loins from [livejournal.com profile] aishabintjamil
8. balance checkbook I feel so poor now... :p
9. stop at Sam's Club (if I have time) and find out why they doublecharged me.
10. stop at bank and deposit checks.

No sweat. :p

Also, did you guys like the Word of the Day? Would you like to see more? Let me know below:

Apparently. They might not like me when I ask for my money back, though. ;)

You let me know if they give you a hard time because I will give them the back of hand. And it looks like I am not getting to VA until about 9:30/10:00 now depending on traffic. Right now I am trying to get off a little early tomorrow but I have no idea if I am going to pull it off. So just give me a call tomorrow before you turn in so I don't call and disturb you when I get in. I hope that made sense.

LOL, it did. Did you see we have to be in the lobby at 6 am on Friday? *dies* I will SO have a tea mug with me!!!

From: [identity profile] daveybeauchamp.livejournal.com

the good thing for me is, that I am up that early or eralier for work everyday so I will be fine one way or another. but the cool thing is we will be done by noon and get free lunch.

BTW- Since we just added each other. :) Missy's the name... aspiring writer, fangirl, IT admin assistant... the list goes on. :) Howdy!!

Hi! :) I'm Val, published author, fangirl and wanna-be paralegal. :D

I'm actually packaging up tea bags as freebie giveaways for RavenCon - eventually, I want to do some custom tea blends based on my Horseman characters' preferences, but I didn't get that done for this con, so I'm using some of my favorite prebagged blends. I adore tea, and my mother pointed out that my characters seem to as well, so what better freebie to put on the freebie table? AND it's unique - I was getting sick of bookmarks and pens.

I'm all about the tea and swag. :) Nice idea! But I also love magnets. I put them on my overhead bins at work. :) I'm a mecca of book adverts. Heeheehee...

Have fun at the con!!

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

yay for tea and swag! I like magnets too, but I dithered too long to get them. And I have no bins at work to show them off. :(

From: [identity profile] mela-lyn.livejournal.com

Time to get a magnetic board to hang up. ;) Where there's a will and all that...

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

Yeah, I tried that, and the tech guys got cranky - something about it messing up the computer it was next too... Cranky tech guys. :p

I need an office. Not just this little cubicle...

From: [identity profile] mela-lyn.livejournal.com

Eh, you get something like a chalk board and then put those little magnets on it... as long as it's at least a few feet away, you're golden! (I do work in IT.) Ah well... let them be picky.

We have 'pods' here for most of us which means 4 desks in a group so I get to sit with 'my guys' (I'm the only girl in IT- go fig.). I like it though b/c then i can keep an eye on them. ;)

If I don't talk to you before you leave- have a fantastic time! Say hi to Tee for me (if he's there) and let me know if you get any good books you're willing to share with your darling little sister! :P

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

I will! And I'd better see Tee - he's running part of it!

I'll call you later.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

yes, but they won't take a PDF!!! Do you have the publisher files or it in JPEG?

I'll post my email to you in a different post (locked for you).

From: [identity profile] scarlettarcher.livejournal.com

What printers are you going through? Print Place say they accept PDF. And I don't use publisher- I'll try and sort it out via JPEG. If you tell me who you're going through I can visit their website to make sure I'm submitting the right file type.

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

I'm going through Staples for right now. I'm going to go through PrintPlace when I need more, and they do accept PDF. :)
