It's December 1, so I can post this!

Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun to medium to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
Surf around your friends list (or friends of friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off the list.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

The Wishlist
1. Donate blood (please. Because I can't.)
2. Recommendations for romance or YA novels (I prefer paranormal or historical)
3. Christmas cards!
4. Donate to the World Wildlife Foundation or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Share Our Strength
5. New band recommendations/Mix CDs - I prefer female vocals, and I like to be able to understand the lyrics (IE, I'm not a big punk or hiphop fan, but I do like folk and alternative. Just no songs where all they do is scream.)
6. A gift certificate to Adagio Tea
7. Socks! I love funky socks.
8. Pens and journals or blank cards/stationary
9. Tea cups
10. Time on World of Warcraft

Note: Used items are always fine & welcome.
Note #2: If required, email/PM me for my snail mail addy.

You really, seriously, want tea cups? My mother had a collection, and I'd love to see them end up where they'll be appreciated. Let's talk and writing group on Saturday, and see how many you want to adopt.

Oooh, yes!!!

BTW, what can I bring, and what time are we meeting? 2 pm per usual?

2 pm, as usual, at least in theory. It would be nice if we could actually get started promptly, cause it sounds like we'll have a pretty full house this month. As for bringing stuff, how about health munchies?

Would you want recommendations for romance or YA novels as a response to this post or somewhere else?

From: [identity profile] shanrina.livejournal.com

Okay, here goes, all YA:

Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy books (Vampire Academy, Frostbite, and Shadow Kiss, but I haven't read Shadow Kiss yet because the library hasn't gotten it yet and I'm in moneysaving mode)

PC Cast and Kristin Cast's House of Night books (Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, and Untamed but again I haven't read Untamed yet)

It's out of print and therefore probably not so easy to find (but my library did have a copy, which shocked me) but I thought Steve Berman's Vintage was really interesting.

Ooh, thanks!

I just found out that I can get audio books on my iPod through my library, so I'll see if they have any of them. Sadly, with an hour commute each way each day, that seems to be my best bet right now.
