Today is the day! Snow will be up for sale today (I'm just waiting for the final go-ahead to post the link), and in honor of the day and the season, I'm going to give away THREE gift certificates to Lilley Press, for you to purchase Snow!
It's easy - post a comment below telling me your favorite part of the season. Is it presents? Snow? Great books? What? Everyone who posts by midnight EST on Saturday, December 6th, is entered, and I'll post the names on Sunday.
Happy Snow Day!
(oh, and cool thing? When I went out to my car this morning, it was snowing!!!)

I love the lights and decorating and being with my kids more, too.
Is it snowing a lot there? Can we have pics for those of us who don't get snow?

Speaking of which, snow comes in second. Not the nasty wet snow we have here in the south, but proper snow, three inches thick and cold enough not to turn to slush if you fall in it.
Also, chasing squirrels, but that's entirely different.

And I'll send you snow. Lots and lots of snow. You can have it ALL. :p

But I'm going to say that all the preparation is my favourite part. Playing carols, baking cookies, wrapping presents, being sneaky (even though my brother almost always guesses what I've gotten him, somehow), setting up the tree and nativities. Yeah, I think that might be my favourite part of the season. :)

Especially the angel tree at church - for the kids who wouldn't get much, but need to know that there are people who care about them, too. Even Santa :D

I'm going to go with - it's peaceful and quiet, when it's warm enough to wander out in the dark, the snow absorbs the sounds of the world, and if the moon is out, you can feel like you're walking in a slightly gothic, slightly alien, underpopulated world, with room for imagination and contemplation...

And I don't like the commercialism of the season either, but I do like wandering in the night, like you said.

I like the snow too - up until the day after Christmas. Then I want it warm again. :)
