I have been reading and watching and contemplating what, if anything, I was going to write about this. And in the end, this is the only thing I'm going to post.

Read all you can, and learn all you can.

it would help if you said about what it it all is you want us to look into.

I take it you haven't been following RaceFail09 in the fandom community? Google it. You'll see what I'm talking about.

This might clear up some of your confusion (or make it worse):

RaceFail 09 is something that I've seen sporadically appear on my F-list with no real explanation... so I had to go look it up. Basically, racism discussions (and accusations) are going around in the sf/f community. I haven't been following it so I can't so who did what or make any opinions on the matter.

THANK YOU. This at least gives me an idea of what I would be looking for.

Eh. I really don't see what the fuss is about. We all know these intolerant people are out there. Prolonging this discussion only gives them a forum in which to vent their repellent views.

As a writer, I'll write what and who I like. No one has to read it if they don't want to. If my writing offends someone, I only have my own ignorance to blame.

And anyone who really thinks they're anonymous on the internet? Kidding themselves.

My 0.02c :)

I just used my old standby of "Ow, my tongue!" over the whole thing. I'm sure the whole debate had some sort of merit, but it's not the kind of debate I'm interested in. I've got other things going on in my life that are a little more important. ;)
