So yesterday, I decided to walk to the post office, rather than take the car. After all, I reasoned, it's only 1.6 miles each way. How hard can it be?

That depends on how out-of-shape you are. I'm EXTREMELY out-of-shape, as proven by the fact that it took me 2 hours and 20 minutes to do the entire round trip (granted, some of that was post office time, but still!). However, I DID it, and I only napped for 30 minutes afterwards.

I'm still sore, though.

And we have updated tickers!!!

How did you folks do yesterday?

You rock!! Way to go! If you keep doing that, you will absolutely positively lose weight. I know it: the woman across the street from me was fairly overweight. She got a german shepherd and started walking three miles a day--and now she looks younger and more fit than her high-school-aged daughter. It was amazing. I hardly recognized her. She seems so vital and vigorous.

Yesterday I think all I did was walk my dog, and probably only about a mile and a half or so :-|

Yeah, I'm definitely going to keep pushing myself. It was only the last 1/2 mile or so that really hurt. Plus, I'm getting a bike, so that should make it a bit easier too.

And a mile and a half is nothing to sneeze at! Even 10 minutes a day helps!!! Go you!

That was the other thing - why should I waste gas and money when it wasn't that far, and it was a gorgeous day???
