Well, the first day of 2006, and I wrote 2006 words. How creepy. :P
It's a start - I only have about 28 to make up tomorrow. And I'd like to get a bunch written tomorrow, so we'll see. Maybe I can make a bigger dent.
I have a bunch of stuff to do in 2006 - too many projects on my plate right now. Tomorrow, time to make a schedule I can STICK with.
Now, time to head to bed...

Seriously, though, it's just learning to treat the writing like a skill, like anything else. I've found that over time, if I sit and say, "Okay, I'm writing," I'll do it, even if my muse seems to be elsewhere. Words seem to draw her out. I've had bad days (see my last post) but even those I count as good days for writing, because some words are better than none.
My friend Andi said it best: Butt In Chair, Fingers on Keyboard. If you are really serious about wanting to be a published author (like I am), you need to learn to train yourself to write all the time. NY does not wait for the muse to strike - unless your name is Stephen King or Robert Jordan. :)
Besides, writing is therapy. I can kill all the stupid people I want in my writing, and not go to jail for it. :)
