Went back to the plot summary for Seasons this weekend (after Birka) and figured out why the other incarnation wasn't working. I'd somehow forgotten that despite having a bunch of supporting characters, this is really Nikki and Rick's story.

Duh. What a thing to do, forget who your heroine and hero are. *sigh*

So now I'm 1325 words into the new chapter outline, and much happier. Things are working again.

Gotta get the diet/exercise jumpstarted as well. I've been a wee bit slack (okay, a lot slack) the past couple of weeks. Bad Val. Time to start again.
