I can't wait for NaNo this year! I've updated everything I can in my account (user name: captain_hobbes), and I start worldbuilding, etc, today!!! Here's the teaser for "The Strange Disappearance of Santa Claus":

Carter's Cove is not your ordinary town, and Schrodinger is not your ordinary detective. The CrossCat and his loyal friend Molly are on the case, searching for the missing St. Nick and his bundle of presents as the days tick down towards Christmas Eve. If they can't locate him, the repercussions might very well spell the end of Carter's Cove itself...

What are you guys doing? And please, add me as a friend and tell me your user name as well!

Are we already NaNo friends? I think so, yes?

I love your story idea. How awesome!

I don't know what I'm going to work on yet. One of two ideas, I think.

Do they allow user name changes without losing the years a person has completed NaNo?

I think so - you may want to check on the forums. I don't see why not!

We are already friends on Nano, which is cool.

This year I am again stepping out of my usual genre choices. I will be writing a mix of a semi-autobiographical story and a fantasy, similar in style to Paulo Coelho. I am rather psyched.

This is going to be the journey of a hiker seeking more than just a beautiful place to hike - he is playing in the energy vortices of Sedona. During his trek he experiences a connection beyond our world that changes his outlook on life.

I have no idea anything beyond that, but I am excited to play with this.

Ooh, sounds interesting! I'm stepping outside of mine too - I've never done a mystery before. Good luck to you!

Thanks to my cat, I've got a soft spot in my heart for the name "Hobbes."

Looking forward to seeing you over there!

:D

It's actually a two-fold joke - I was a poli sci major in college the first time, but I love the tiger, so...

Will add you over there!
