I've found I can't finish a novel without an outline (which was the reason I was working on this one), even for a rewrite. I tend to stick mostly to them, but they get added to and modified as I go along.
Don't worry, I'll be merrily updating along.

Since that worked out, I might just 'request' a scene combining marmalade, two hot tempers and a carelessly dropped picnic hamper full of bologna sandwiches.
