So you all remember that I won a custom musical theme by Alex White (of The Gearheart fame) in the Boom Effect auction, right? I got the theme last night, and I am SO excited to share it with you guys!!!! Alex is an amazing writer and musician, and all I can say is this is one very, very cool piece.

Without further ado, I give you "Ride of the Horseman," by Alex White, which will be the intro/outro theme for the "Not Your Father's Horseman" podcast, coming in...June!!! (yes, I have firm dates. I start recording this weekend)

Ride of the Horseman (The link plays as soon as it opens)

What do you guys think?
Is Enter the Haggis. Very cool. Liking their song "Gasoline" at the moment.

Why yes, I'm listening to Celtic Rock this morning, why do you ask?

[livejournal.com profile] caitlindancer, we should go see these guys in concert - they sound cool.

Edit: Argh! They're playing Tupelo in November!!! Dammit, why do I have to be poor NOW??? *sulk* (On the upside, they're from Toronto, which means they'll probably be back in the spring. But dammit!)

Yesterday was gorgeous, AND I got to rip a bunch of my dad's folk CDs to my iTunes. SO EXCITING!

One of them, Classic Schooner Faire, is actually out of print and costs $55 IF you can find it. It's Schooner Faire (a wonderful folk trio) backed by the Portland (ME) Symphony Orchestra. It's amazing, and I adore it. I also got Sun and Shadow by Golden Bough (based on Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar stuff), Northeast Winds On Tour and Northeast Winds In Concert, Schooner Faire: The First Ten Years and Maritime Music from the Maritime Provinces, which has some great music from Nova Scotia. My iPod is full to bursting!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] asakiyume, I got the Northeast Winds' version of "Crazy Man Michael"!!!

Well, I considered today my weekend. Yesterday was recovery.

Thank you so much, guys - I had a ton of fun today! And when I got home, I was STILL able to play Maltese! I'm going to practice and see how long it takes Argus to kill me. :D

Now I need a recorder icon...

Since I know I have music junkies on my list.

I'm looking for a copy of a song, preferably on the computer. I believe it's called "Something Blue," and I believe it was Siouxsie and the Banshees - IIRC, it was a b-side of a single.

End of the chorus is:

Something blue, something sparkling blue.
Out of the blue, I'm reminded of you.

(yes, [livejournal.com profile] watermelontail, the mix tape it was on finally died. I'm very bummed.)

Anyone?

No, I did not watch the game today. Yes, I understand the Patriots lost. That just means that I'm not the jinx everyone thought I was. Now, can we get to the important season: Baseball? :p

Anyways, I need to get words written tonight. So now I have Ave Maria playing on iTunes, and once the laundry is changed around and the mug filled with Dr. Pepper, I will be settling in for the night's writing. Did some editing today, so it's not like I haven't been working.

Oh, and Dresden rocked. :p
