Well, today is a recovery day. Thank you to everyone who helped make Yule a great experience for all the kids yesterday (especially to [livejournal.com profile] kuzushi and her lord, who were awesome "evil pirates"!) - I got so many compliments from both adults and kids on how much fun they had! You all rock - thanks for believing I could actually do it and helping me make it so much fun.

Today it is snowing, so I'm puttering around my house, making it look more like a house and less like a dump site and basically recovering. So here's my to-dos list:

- laundry!!!! -started. I put away the laundry in the bedroom. I've got a load in the wash and one in the dryer.
- make food for the week
- decorate the christmas tree that's been up and naked for a week now.
- wrap some presents (maybe)
- work on my sister's christmas present
- clean up the living room
- clean up the dining room
- clean up the kitchen
- write more on Snow
- shovel driveway

I'm working on the posts you've requested (editing and prewriting) and those will be up within the week. I'm also pondering my goals for next year.

Oh, and while you're online, cruise over to Jeff Vandermeer's blog: my good friend [livejournal.com profile] watermelontail is a guest blogger!!! And it's good stuff.

Things I need to get done before Saturday morning:

- get stuffies for the little kids Done! Two puppies, a monkey and a bunny rabbit, ready to be pirate-ified.
- get pirate accoutrements for said stuffies.
- get 35 pirate swords
- get two more sets of Legos
- wrap all the presents
- find a sack for Father Christmas
- find Father Christmas' coat and make sure it's clean
- print out pirate checklists and roll them into scrolls and tie them
- string jingle bells onto yarn for site tokens
- get apple cider and mulling spices for potluck
- get coal
- print out pirate christmas carols

Of course, this might be difficult if I don't make it home tonight.

Well, bah.

What happened to those little boat-shaped snow sleds they used to have? I saw them EVERYWHERE last year - now I can't find them at all.

And that was going to be presents for Yule.

Hmm, must think on alternatives....
