I did it! Got up at 7:30 am and went to the farmers market. My rewards?

- eggs laid THIS MORNING (omg, never buying eggs in the store again)
- rainbow chard (all your fault, [livejournal.com profile] enchantedonyx)
- beet greens (also your fault, since I like your idea of trying one new veggie a week)
- THE FIRST STRAWBERRIES OF THE SEASON!!!!
- a massive leek
- apricot-pineapple jam
- oatmeal bread, baked this morning
- challah, also baked this morning
- a cherry tomato plant, covered in flowers
- what he called a "slicing" tomato plant, just starting to flower but looking huge and lovely

I also got a sample of some compost that felt lovely, so I might go get some ($5 for a 50 lb bag? I'm there!) and found out when the pick-your-own place is opening their fields (after the 20th). I'm going to go up and pick a ton of strawberries - and make strawberry jam. Mmmm.

Today, I have a wonderfully fun to-do list:

- go to Yankee and get meat (mmm, meat)
- drop off steak dinner at Donna's
- Writer's group! Yay!

I also have to clean up the kitchen and write, but hey, whatever. :P

More later.
