No snow yet here, but it's cold enough! I'm totally getting into the holiday spirit!
Yesterday, I went to Lowe's on my way home and got LED outdoor Christmas lights! So cool! I got a multicolored net for the rhodadendron bush, and a set of multicolored crystal LED lights for the railing of the porch. Then I got a green outdoor extension cord and a remote control. Now all I need is a wreath for the door (I didn't like the ones they had there) and something for the chair. Any suggestions? (Clean ones!) Once I have everything up, I'll take a picture and post it here!
And I'm doing my annual Christmas card drive! Anyone who wants a Christmas card from yours truly, put your address in the comments (they will be screened) and I'll be doing those.
I'm also doing The Holiday Mail for Heroes program again this year. Last year, I sent 50 cards from work that I collected down to the gathering point in Louisiana, where they went out overseas. This year, I want to gather even more! If you're in the area (NH), feel free to drop them off with me by Friday, December 5th. If you aren't in the area, there's ways on the website you can get involved as well. Please do - these men and women are most often far from home, either in the war zones or recovering in hospitals, and they need to know that we support them. As a Navy brat, I always try and do SOMETHING this time of year.
And I'm working on my Christmas present for you guys! I've got some ideas...and I think you'll like them. More later!
