1. I am following the discussions on the various lists about the proposed 4th peerage in the SCA with interest. I have opinions and they are personal. I do not have a peerage, nor do I aspire to one, but I am interested to see where this discussion goes.

2. Birthday plans have shifted slightly, since Argus has decided to take the day off to celebrate with me. Yay!

3. I saw a porcupine on my walk yesterday! It was very cool - he was very grumpy, so I stayed a cautious distance behind him. Alas, my cell phone camera is not good and it was twilight, so no pictures.

4. My daffodils are still alive!

5. Everything is better with pirates.*

*Extra points if you recognize the movie quote.

1 they are proposing a 4th peerage? Is this the Knight equivalent for other martial arts peerage or have I missed something?

2 Hope you have a great time at the Beach! Now I want to go to the beach...

3 yeah probably just woke up from winter, cool!

4 YAY!

5 So very true!

1. Oh yes - if you head over to [livejournal.com profile] sca_snark and [livejournal.com profile] liamstliam's, there's info. There's more on SCA.org, I think. They're proposing a peerage for non-rattan combat, from what I can tell.

2. If I can convince Argus to go with me...

3. Oh yes, he was QUITE grumpy, I could hear him grumbling.

4. Indeed!

5. You do. You haven't been over to watch it with us yet. (http://www.the-gamers.com/)

Yah.. Liam is really sticking his foot into it YET again. OMG if I were peers who actually beleived in the values of such I would be SOOOOO embarrassed of him right now.

He really coming off as an ass and I dont care if he is the Queens RL husband

He's expressing his opinion, which he's allowed to do. From what I've read, he's been polite throughout, so I don't personally see him coming across as an ass.

I don't necessarily agree with him, but he IS entitled to his opinion.

From: [identity profile] ladyariadne.livejournal.com

He is being the polite form of condescending and holier then thou.

And MANY people are pointing it out. And not even us.

Maybe he doesnt have to be loud like me...

but he is still showing himself to be unworthy of his said peerage if they actually had standards they actually upheld to. But that is a different arguement

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

FWIW, there are also (from what I'm seeing) a lot of folks agreeing with him.

From: [identity profile] ladyariadne.livejournal.com

Most of THOSE are agreeing with his opinion if not how he said it.

Two different things

Yay porcupine! Yay birthday, yay daffodils!

... Boo, I don't know the movie quote...

From: [identity profile] vg-ford.livejournal.com

Is a very silly movie. I highly recommend both it and its prequel (http://www.the-gamers.com/) to any gamers.

I've never known a porcupine not looking grumpy, at least not when I was in New England... :p

Dude - it's WET and COLD on the ground he's sleeping on - I'd be grumpy too! :P
