That's about to get worse.
Those of you who I talk to in FM or IM already know the story, but for everyone else: by the end of Christmas Day, Argus and I will have not one, not two, but THREE kittens. Two males, eight weeks old, and one female, nine weeks old.
The female, Tayla, arrived yesterday evening. She's an absolutely adorable black tiger striped kitten, with double paws and a TON of energy. She also loves to curl up on laps or the backs of knees to sleep, and has a purr motor that won't quit. Can you tell I'm in love?
Bear and Sebastian are all set to come home Christmas Day. Tayla was part of a multi-cat household before, and I can tell she misses having other cats around, so I'm sure she'll love having the boys here.
Personally, I can't wait. And Argus called home on his lunch break to check on how "his little girl" was doing, so I know he's in love too. Right now, she's sleeping on the back of my chair. I haven't had a Muse since Max died - I guess I'll have 3 after Christmas!
I'm glad we waited, though. We were devastated when we had to put Max to sleep - and in no shape to handle a new cat. Now, we get the chance to help out two friends and bring three new lives into our hearts. No replacement for Max - but now at least there's room in our hearts for other cats.
Even now, thinking about him makes me cry. I wonder if that will ever change. Probably not - he and I were very, very close, and I miss him every day. But the little kitten purring drowsily behind me is a welcome sound - and having her fall asleep with us last night was great. And none of them look like Max at all - which is good.
I'll never have another chocolate-point Siamese. But I'll enjoy Bear, Sebastian and Tayla, and be happy knowing that Max had a good life here. And that he's being spoiled in the afterlife.
Of course, I doubt I'll get much writing done in the next couple of weeks, but I'm going to try. :) More updates later....

I wish I had kitties in our new apartment, but we're not allowed. And even though my old cat from ages ago died in '02, I do miss him. At least when I moved in with my wife and her roomies, we had a rather talkative and opinionated cat. Who would wake me up to be fed at SIX IN THE MORNING. Even on weekends...*sigh*
I'm a writer, dang it! I NEEDS MY KITTIES! :p

I soothed my kitty needs by going to my folks' house when I needed a kitty fix. You might want to see if there's an SPCA near you - they're always looking for people to volunteer to help socialize the cats. Maybe you can volunteer?

That's all I have to say.

Has Tayla shredded any decorations yet?

Pics will be posted as soon as I get a digital camera, which won't be until after Christmas.
